    Grow lights

I need some help I am trying my hardest to make led light work for a good yield and well it hasn’t happened yet I veg under Quantum T5 16 bulb light and was curious I’m using three 1500 W LED lights one is King 11 is I don’t even know the other ones even worse but I probably have $4500 wrapped up in T5 lights now can I flower under T fives with the same yeld or Breyer with t5 Trust me I am a professional hydroponic farm I want nothing more than to use HPS is a metal halide’s I have axis to all that but I want to make low heat lights work I want to make LED lights work and I won’t make T5 lights work how can I go about this is I’m very disappointed in the LED yield The quality is spectacular with the LED lights I’ve seen that my buddies going to same strains that I am and I’m getting way more color in better quality by 100 times with the LEDs but the yield isn’t there any help would be great

Well, a watt is a watt. Doesn’t matter if it’s from an LED or HID. Its a unit of measurement to describe a transfer of energy which = heat. It’s true that LED has heat sink technology which help out a bit. Its also true that HID can be used with air cooled hoods which help out a lot. I tried both types of lights in the same space for 1 year. I have to say, the LED (550w actual draw not par) was hotter than my 600w HPS with air cooled hood year round. So the LED technology was not that great yet at displacing heat. Maybe things have changed since my last LED grow, but I got way more yield from the HID lights on a grams per watt basis.
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

This is very true. Many misunderstand the reason why LEDs typically produce less heat. It is not due to efficiency but because most low cost LED products are low powered. Watt for watt compared to HID lights and you are going to see equal, if not higher energy output as heat. This is because the electrical efficiency is not all that different from HID. In fact, there are only a handful of products, such as fluence, california lightworks, nextlight and black dog that are superior to hid. But are vastly expensive.
