My young plants are dying off one or two a day now. That's seven of thirty six so far. They look like something chewed through the main stalk right at the base. Never had or seen this problem before (it's always something, right.) I'm doing a coco grow in a hot atmosphere. Some of the plants are doing well and some appear stunted. I don't know what to look for.

Can you see any bugs at all in the coco? The main stem being eaten sounds familiar, but I can't think of the culprit right now.****tent (2x4) and large light (Relassy 300W LED) is in storage for now until I can solve some household electrical issues****

Sounds like cutworms. https://goo.gl/images/T6eCmG
Cutworms are moth larvae that hide under litter or soil during the day, coming out in the dark to feed on plants. A larva typically attacks the first part of the plant it encounters, namely the stem, often of a seedling, and consequently cuts it down; hence the name cutworm.https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...-she-s-a-beast

Could be fungus gnats. The larva hangs by the stem and chews through it at times. Maybe time for benifical nematodes if that is the case.
Do you see any flying bugs? High temps make bugs breed more actively and reduces the juvenile period significantly.
Place some yellow sticky traps out parallel with the soil line. If they stay clean for 2-3 days than you know it’s not a dreaded FG infestation.
Are you keeping the coco consistently wet? Or letting it go through wet-dry periods?Last edited by Toker1; 09-14-2018, 04:18 PM.4x4 600w HID empty for summer

First of all, thanx to all your reply's. The dreaded FG infestation (good name) I've encountered before, so I keep an eye out for them. I basically do a wet/ dry watering regime. I'm afraid Chefbjy was correct. I researched cutworms(thanx for the link) and all indications are present. All plants, just seedlings, fell over at night and we do have moths come in around spring/summer, that get into the grow room. So, I have to begin getting rid of those. I found a good deal of info. on how to control them. Again, thanks for the input, I think It's gonna be OK now.
