So a friend let me lease purchase his hps light recently and I knew they run very hot but figured my inline fan would deal with heat build up, it’s a six inch inline and does a great job, I had another which was bringing in fresh cool air from the bottom everything was working fine then.....last night around 3am was woken to an odd grinding noise it was coming from the tent, I recognized it straight away, the fan was wildly out of balance same thing happened to the last one, it was getting really bad so had no choice but to remove it completely.
This morning when lights came on at 8am I knew I had some emergency measures to take until I can purchase better quality inline fans.. so I did a McGyver with two oscillating room fans, and one double window fan which can circulate or vent air away. I placed this on top of tent so it covered the exhaust vent port, then using some hvac tap and a lamp shade I taped this cone to one oscillating fan and then taped a section of ducting to that which leads into the tent. It’s working better than the shit inline-fans I had! Temps are steady at 80 f and 55% rh.
Decided i I will use this tent as a doorway into the new grow room that I will create, which is where the tent resides at the moment. I can’t wait to open this up as it will allow me a lot more spacing between plants better ventilation and heat distribution. Oh and panda cloth, Mylar sheeting and heavy duty tape and staples are much cheaper than a frigging tent lol
