Some solutions to grasshopper invasion. First is pic is large cage yet to be deployed. Needs to be dropped from above on ladder for various reasons I won't go into. This one can not be seen from very far away but still might not deploy because it is 48"dia. X 96" tall . Second is plan for future medium size plants. These are jumping jack dash auto and tahoe og clone first week flower challenge. This is 48" red top field fence with the cheapest screen I could find wrapped. I also bought air pistol to shoot Jarasic hoppers. First day shot 25 second day 2 third day 1.

The fricken hoppers won last years war. However this year I got all prepared, and then they didn't show up. I had even ordered Semaspore as the Nolo bait facility burned down. I had a premonition and cancelled the order before they shipped. That shit is really expensive, and I saved a pile of shekels by doing so. Fortunately only a few of the sonsabitches showed up this year. In the next mass extinction I hope all insects go first.

The Semaspore bait does not work in an arid climate. When it is very dry the hoppers will not eat the dry bait because they are attracted to the water in plants. I talked to the manufacturer and they told me their bait is a multi year proposition. Put it down the first year and it does not kill them but makes them sick and they can't reproduce.Next year there are supposed to be half as many and the next year half again. If you put out more cash for more bait each time. I wasted a lot of cash on that stupid bait. If we have a cold wet winter this year there will be none next year with no bait used. They love the dry they love the heat. They can't live in wet and cold.

Not an entomologist, but what i have gleaned from the internet grasshopper eggs do need water to hatch. As we have had a drought in my locale i attribute this to my (happy day) lack of hoppers this year. I did use Nolo bait last year. I like to think that helped as well.

Yes the Nolo bait plant/warehouse burned down. Nolo bait should be available next June. http://nolobait.com/

Will GuenieaFowl not eat them? Can they live in your climate? We keep a few around the farms and they will decimate an insect population quick. Although we get these huge black and red hoppers the size of half your hand here and nothing will eat them. But they are dumb and slow and never seen one eat anything. Lol
