    Are these male plants?

Just wanted to know if these look like male plants to anyone else.

    Thanks.

Pictures are a little blurry but that definitely looks like pollen sacks on each of those plants

Definitely on the Misty. I wasn't sure if it was a Hermie or not. The rhino too. Looks like little pollen sacs. Oh well. At least they got big. Lol

Now do I keep them for the pollen or just kill them? I don't currently have any other plants.

Definitely males and I would’nt save them unless you’re a serious breeder and have mother stalk you want to cross. Since you seem to be just starting out, I’d trash them and start germinating the next set ASAP

Thanks. Definitely not a breeder. Just thought I'd keep some pollen so I won't need to buy seeds.

If you are buying regular seeds, there will be a time when you get both male and female plants. If you want seeds, that would be the time to make that happen by just sitting back and watch the action.

          FS,

I only have 2 plants and they are both male. Can't really make seeds with just males. They are regular seeds.

I have never tried it so I am no help, but I will bet there is something on the GWE site about capturing and storing pollen. You have nothing to loose by trying.

It’d be a fun experiment but don’t count on results

If you really want to grow your own seeds, buy a 2x2 tent that’s designated as a pollination chamber. Buy 20 high quality, regular, photo period, seeds. Grow them to maturity, keeping track of growth patterns and valuable traits. Take the very best male and female and introduce them to the pollination chamber. Grow them through flower to harvest in the same chamber while hand pollinating whenever sacks burst. By harvest you’ll have fat buds full of seeds and you’ll know they’re genetically strong.

I am going to cut down the male plants today. I will move my seedlings to one of the tents after a thorough cleaning.

I thought male plants were supposed to be long and skinny? Not big and bushy. I really need to learn to tell before they get this far along. Lol

Honestly, it's pretty hard to tell before 6 weeks into veg, in my opinion (which may be wrong). I've had my share of males crop up from bag seed, and I've never bothered with the pollination thing because I'm just starting out. But it might be something to try in the future. I like IslandColas suggestion.

Thank you for the replies. I would probably build instead of buy. I have most of the materials on hand anyway.

              Quick question,

If my male plants get this big, will my female plants be larger?

              Thanks.

There’s not a huge difference in size but males usually grow taller quicker. This is so that in the wild, the male plants will be higher than the females allowing the wind to spread their pollen more effectively.

If you are going to grow regular seeds you can influence the sex of the seeds by external influences ,Jeorge Cervantes has a good explanation in his book I have done this and it works
new grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

Pics of the roots and stalks of the rhino and Misty. I wish I knew what I was doing. I keep growing big plants and don't exactly understand how.

                      OJH,

I know what you mean. I posted the article from his book on GWE awhile back.
