When to start flush in soil medium?

Hello all, I looked at the trichomes while watering today and its about 50/50 cloudy/clear, today was just ph'd water, question is do i start the flush now or would they benefit from a couple more boosts, at a lower nutes level, I don't know how quickly the trichomes can turn to all/most of them cloudy, that is when to harvest I believethanks
The more I know, the better I grow.

Oh those are pretty. I would wait till 70/30 to start flushing but it depends on what kind of high you are looking for and what strain.

    For example:

I personally have issues with anxiety and depression so sometimes i like sativa's for the uplifting feeling but let sativa's go longer to keep them from being too speedy which can wreak havoc on my anxiety. Indica's i typically will harvest earlier (but not too early) because they don't mess with my anxiety.

Hope this helps a little bit lol.

Mucho help dude thanks, I am going for relaxing effect, I'm in the same room as you medically and I DO NOT want anxiety heightened, that particular sense is sharp enough dude lol

im going to not flush any of my grows until I have enough solid information to tell me otherwise. When a plant is shutting down- its exhausted all resources including from within- and wont really take any more regardless if what you give it. So water with nutes or water without- is just going to sort of wet the soil - and drain out- but likely not get used by the plant- when shes done- shes hollowed out- and cannot drink anymore! Her vein is dead- and is sustaining on leaves and branch/stems. At least from my research. And watching roots, dirt development. Watching plants suck up water or not take any- tricks to get them to drink more- or less

What are you calling a flush...plain ph water ..wich is a rinse..or...a flush/stripper

Two different things...what are you trying to accomplish

If you have been doing a periodic flush/strip should not be much in there built up

I just give them water the last 2 weeks. I have never flushed my weed. I'm also very stingy with my nutes.

kingfish Oh wow..that's when they try to feed the most and put on weight also cause of stalk hollowing out.

        They need their food!!

Combined with nutrient uptake...they work hand in hand, man

Gotta agree with King here. I don't think they need any nutrients at all in the last couple weeks. This is where defoliating may come into play since the plant has no reserves to draw from.

Interesting to see different perspectives on this. My first DWC grow, I tried to get the leaves to yellow, I kept flushing with plain water but the leaves still stayed green. 2 weeks later, I harvested and they looked as green as they did prior to flushing.

my thoughts too- naturally they shut down- why starve - if no signs of deficiency? Green are you doing water only for the last week or 2 or nutes to the end? My last 2 just happened to have nutes till the end. The smell is still super marvelous and I cant wait to finish the cure.

I try to flush/stripper a week to a week and half before harvest...then full nutes till kill day

I only use plain ph water to to rinse when I have ph problem..

Man that depends on the strain and conditions...if you are already 50% cloudy it won't be to long...week...two tops I would say

Thanks dude, that's good news, strain is unknown so going to keep a close eye on them, they are under 675w of cfl, temp tops at 80 in day, bottoms at 70 in night, rh is unknown but not excessive, soil and 16Litre smart pots, 2 fans in 80x80x160cm tent, canna terra Flores, cannazym, canna boost, pk 13/14, just f.y.i

The stalk will hollow out towards harvest...restricting uptake more and more...

when shes going all amber- shes shutting down- but prior to that- shes already peaked and has max trich dev at the calyx- and cannot produce anymore thc- and therefore thats the pinnacle. - but to know exactly when that is, is to have multiple subject matter, stare at them obsessively, have them at different stages, bend, break branches and stems, burn them from lights, nutes, bugs, etc. To get a full understanding of what a plant can and cannot do. I took out my C+ last night to feed- and noticed a branch totally fucked. it was burned like, broken- I said it couldnt have been from last night- to today- the cola branch has a meaty nut where the branchs is still pulling food- this shit is DEAD but still getting nutes through the branch- regardless- I think shes a lost cause branch- but shes growing so I will keep her up- a 4 socket bulb fell onto her- I bet it burned branch- and only saw that last night- when I pruned the crap out of her

and just comb that ladys hair till shes but a bud in a bowl.

Flushing is definitely a controversial topic. People seem to be all for it or completely against it.

I've tried herb that didn't get flushed. It burned white, no cracking and popping and tasted/felt great. This was with salt based nutrients too (GH).

I prefer to flush though mostly because I don't think the plant really needs much in the last couple of weeks, so it can't hurt. Nebula has tested this herself and found the flushed buds to be smoother. It's all anecdotal and subjective, but Nebula's got my trust....

I'm not debating that. Just correcting your sugar statement...

You still haven't grown organic yet, though? I'll make a believer out of you, one day.

This is as close to what I can find in a pinch...there are way better articles

Roots pull water...water has nutes in it. Photosynthesis changes water and nutes into glucose

It's actually the water and CO2 that creates the glucose from my research.

I wish I could roll a fat spliff and debate with you both, I'm going for the rinse with plant A as its so close but going flush/ full nutes all the way with plant B, it handles the nutes better, thanks guys

"One of the primary examples of this is their ability to send out sugars. Plants secrete an incredibly wide variety of sugars through their roots. These sugars are known as exudates. Exudates are used to attract sweet-loving microbes to the plant roots. These microbes then provide the plant with the nutrients that it needs to grow and survive."

Want to keep your soil healthy and nutritious? Here’s a little secret: it’s all about the microbes.

Depends on what I am working with during each grow!

Little to no nutrients added-No flush at all. (organic grow)
Nutrients "as needed" then just water with pHed water for the last 10 days.(assisted to organic grow)
Nutrients used through out the grow- then yes- flush with 2 times the amount of water, then continue with light to no nutrients. (synthetic nutrient based grow)
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!
