    Preserving Rapid Rooter starter plugs

    Hi,

I recently purchase a bag of Rapid Rooters but discovered they only come in a bag of 50 or more. I only grow 6 plants per grow, is there anyway to preserve the other 44 plugs till my next grow?

I kept mine in the original bag folded over and left them on a shelf. I just used the last of them and I bought them in January. I got 6 seedlings sprouting in them right now.

So, it's safe to say they're good for at least a year. Maybe someone's kept them longer...

10-4 RoyalNugs on that. O Lynne adding o keep mine in cool, dark, DRzy space and then either sink them in water or spray them before next injection of sees.

The freezer is a good idea. I've kept em for probably 6 months or so before just on a shelf in the bag and they were fine. As long as they don't get like crispy dry you can soak em in a bowl overnight and they'll still work pretty good. You can also look on eBay people sell em in packs of ten and such. Probably costs more per starter that way but u don't have to worry about throwing half a bag away cause they dried out

Just an FYI, you can buy them on eBay in smaller quantities. I got quantitiy 20.

You know, many of the same sellers you see on Amazon, also have eBay stores, and sometimes they offer different items, quantities, sizes etc. For example low-baller. Amazon did not have the size Apollo tent we wanted. Found low-baller on eBay and they had the size. Makes no sense, but it's true. I buy and sell on eBay and love it. Great buyer protection also, if you have a problem and seller won't cooperate.

Just some food for thought for those of you who swear by Amazon.

I bought the 50 pack. I used them for my herb garden outside. I germinate them inside with the plugs and move them outside when they sprout and get acclimated.

I did the same thing this summer for my vegetable garden. They worked great. I would also take my water when I emptied the pools and dump that in the garden. Had a ton of vegetables lol. Canned a lot hopefully lasts all winter 😁
