If you can afford it get a BlueLabs, ph,pen.
Those little cheap ones on Amazon for 15-20bucks, work ok sometimes, but some don't last long.
The BlueLabs pens have got warranties. And are worth every penny, they are extremely accurate. You sound like you got it figured out, so good luck. and HappyGrowing

When I say simple I mean simple to check and adjust

When you start getting those ph swings in your DWC,making you scratch your head, your gonna find out that ph, isn't that simple after all.
    But your gonna be ok.

I have a meter just need to get calibration solution so it is accurate. Which is why I’m using the drops in combo with the meter currently.

Hey DankweedDuck, yeah, drops are ok, but you need to get used to the meter, some nutrients change the color of your water, and that will mess you up. Unless you got a meter, I believe your gonna make a great mj, grower, have fun.

I make enough mistakes as it is . Something as simple as ph shouldn’t be one of them .

Well you are to be commended for doing a double test to check!
Sounds like you know whats up with pH!

For sure . The drops do the trick for now and I only use them ones a day . I’ll adjust the meter if needed to reflect the drop test and then use the meter to adjust from there . I just didn’t adjust it when I took those pics earlier.

The powder is worthless because it requires an exact amount of distilled water... And we can't measure in microliters.
Get the fluids pre-made, well worth it!

I had this calibration power that came with it but when I used it and then compared it to the drop tester it was way off

When you get the calibration fluid, store your meter in it. Just up to immersion level - in a jar or something. That will keep it accurate longer and won't have to recalibrate as frequently.

I see I just use the drops. Serves its purpose and just as accurate as the pen and never faulty. To get within the .1s not so much but it's always good to let your ph fluctuate in soil. Not sure if it's the same in hydro. I always study the guides and re-read them from time to time. I'm still learning new things everyday. Even some of the people I know that have been growing for years don't have some of the knowledge I picked up here on gwe. Good luck and happy growing!

It is off a little which is why I ph it to 5.5 on the meter . I like it to sit about 5.8 and that was pretty close ppm are 408 but I’m going to cut that down to half that when I add the plant back to it and slowly bring it up to that 400 over the next week or so . I have a very cheap ph meter and it seems to jump around a little day to day which is why I use the drop test along with it I have to get some 7.0 calibration stuff but haven’t had a chance to get over to the hydro store in the last day or so .

Those numbers are great for veg. 60rh and if it only gets 81 your golden with climate control. They look pretty good to me. Hope you got it corrected. Is that 5.5 your ph? 450 ppm? I've never done hydro and hope to learn a little. But that still seems high ppm for seedlings imo. And looks like your meter is off if it's 5.5 if that's the drop test kit cause it looks like 6 to me(neutral).
