How long should i veg for?

My seedling emmerged at april the 7th and i see all the posts online about how people veg only 3-4 weeks and for that time my plant is tiny. So if anyone could give me any tips on how long to veg i would greatly appreciate it

Yes some people only veg for 3-4 weeks. We enjoy pics btw. Really depends on the space you have to grow and how tall the strain is. They will double if not triple in size once you flip to flower sometimes so fast they out grow their space. I typically veg for 45-60 days. Also depending on medium like hydro veg time is quick they get big fast. You can take a look at my journal on the last page I'm 20days out of soil about to top and put it under good light. Link in signature. But you want the plant to be atleast 2 feet high in the end to produce anything worth costs.

Veg times really depend on growth speed and size constraints.
Would be nice to know much more about your grow: media, nutes, lights, etc. And see pics.
Decision to flip should be made based on size not set amount of time.

Yes, you can go to veg in 3-4 weeks because the plant will not flower unless it has attained sufficient maturity and will continue to mature under 12/12 before flowering begins.
Many growers veg for 8 weeks, to make it easy for rotational purposes- 8 weeks in veg tent and 8 weeks in flower tent. (8 weeks curing, too)

The law of deminishing returns is around 5 weeks from sprout- where you spend more money, than you get returned in product vs more crops per year.

There are reasons to go the longer time and beyond- which has more to do with growing contstraints- ie plant number limits- wanting to fill the tent, etc..

It's good advise for most growers to use plant height, which takes into consideration the tents size, lights, ventilation.

I flip @ 6 weeks from planting- being mindful of my grow space useful height and light requirements of a 2'x4'x6' tent.

Veg is up tp the grower and plant behavior. I wanted to veg mine for 4 weeks but had to extended due to low grow. It all depends what the plant does and your growing space as others said. Cheers!

depends on your light penetration in full bloom. veg till 1/2 that height as a rule of thumb.
