Slugs are attracted to yeast, that’s my understanding, I use to use a shallow pie pan with beer in it to lure them away from my plants, my .02$

A little beer doesn’t hurt, but they’ll go in for just the smell of beer and they can’t get out.

something else on the plants Ticks 3 or 4 per plant can't figure that one out unless they are predatory, they are not touching/eating the plants

yes slugs are attracted to yeast and at home I use it when I have an issue , Ill stick with d earth in the woods if we ever have a few days without rain

They do seem to hit the plant once or twice and then leave it alone

Mrs. Lady, being a victim of alpha gal (a tick-borne disease) has made a study of ticks. They are indeed ambush predators. They sense heat & carbon dioxide & will drop out of trees onto us regularly. We have lost 2 dogs in the last 10 years to rocky mountain spotted tick fever (curious, as we're in the mid-atlantic coast). The chickens really help keep them in check. Guineas are even better but they're kinda dumb & all of ours wandered wandered off years ago.

BillBates, you are right about the Guineas, they are hell on ticks. Lots better than Chickens, and they are pretty good with bugs.
I love the noise Guineas, make.
Sure hate to hear about you losing your dogs. That's terrible. I've lost a couple of jim dandy coon dogs , due to BullNettle, getting in their eyes, when we were huntin. That's some bad stuff too.
      LymeDisease ain't no joke either.

I had a squadron of the little Bastards land on my arm .no kidding I felt something crawling looked down to see one then 3 more landed ,them little things can jump a mile .

My partner has a dog and hes not bringing him in the woods because their are so many Ticks , I wish I could go in my back yard lol . I would but the law says they have to be in a fenced area ,I just dont have that kind of room, I could make room if I cut down two grape plants and 1 apple tree neither of which I'm going to do ( wife hasn't raised her voice to me in 22 years) but I think she would over that lol

I've had moose lay on a plant and stems get broken by a bear but deer don't seem to bother with my plants take a few leaks around them to make sure ,and touch the surrounding vegetation to get your scent on them

Ojh -- Miz Lady just told me about this lady who recently died from Rocky Mt. Spotted Tick Fever. Was sick for a few days & treated for the flu. Most tickborne maladies display flu-like symptoms early in their progression. If not treated immediately & properly they gather momentum until the real treatment becomes virtually ineffective. Believe me, my brother, ticks ain't to be trifled with. DO NOT be shy about reporting to your doctor about ANY flu-like symptoms following a tick bite. Save the tick (dead or alive) if possible for identification. Early & proper diagnosis saves lives!

This may or may not help u with ticks, I have placed dog flee and tick collars in with my grows in the past and it has worked to keep them away. 😎 but I must admit that your getup has provided a bit of comic releaf, on a sunny day. Thanks. Lol
