Has any one grown auto flower outdoors? I plan on growing some autos outdoors late winter early spring. I have never grown auto flower before. I know how to grow photo period very well. I would like some tips and suggestions from someone who has had experience with auto flower outdoors. Are there any outdoor growers on this forum?

Howdy! I grew 2 autos last summer outside. I'm in New England so I didn't start until early June when the weather settles down a bit. They were almost ready early August, though a stretch of cool wet days started some bud rot, so I did a first harvest (upper colas) early (removing the minor rot, then had a second harvest a week or two later. If the growing season was a bit longer, I probably could get some staggered plantings, since those autos are usually quite quick to mature. Still love the way autos can provide excellent cannabis without concern for photoperiods! Give them a try....you'll like it! π

I am in New England and I grew 10 autos last year. Started seeds in in peat pellets and put in 3 gallon pots and some right into the garden. All grew well and provided a good ounce each. Started early may and harvested mid july. o g kush and sour diesel. Vermont summer was a good one last year"

Desert Dan, I was hoping you'd get more responses since I will be giving autos a try outdoors as well. Our weather in the Southwest US is not at all like New England - I'm guessing your in the SW as well. I was planning to start my autos in March to avoid the 100 degree plus Summer. I have a 6x6 pop up green house for stealth. I have Auto Fem seeds for Northern Lights and Short Rider. Never tried an auto or these two strains. Maybe we can commiserate in the Spring.I like big buds and I can not lie.

Howdy Dagmar, I am in the southwest. I plan to try autos late winter. If the weather is the same as last couple years I should be able to start early Feb. I want them out in time for my main crop in summer. I had 5 days straight 105 last summer. I grew Sativa and they had no problem with it. I will be trying skunk 47, Afghan Kush Ryder and chemdog autos this late winter. No need for stealth were I grow, From what I understand they don't get more than 3 feet high if your good grower and lucky. I am disappointed with response on this. I think mostly indoor grower folks here. I think if we can communicate info we won't have to commiserate.
