Thanks for checking in Nebula and wattze. Last night was a series of light bulb moments while sitting on the couch, which made me run back to the shed a couple of times to help fix my problems.

Thrips. After watching a couple of them fly out of the clone pots, first light bulb came on(albeit an hour later) and I removed the pots out of the space all together, they were for a friend but told him better get rid of them, it's not worth it. No signs of the bastards this morning, still planning on second spray with spinosad next week. just in case.

PH. boy oh boy was the light flickering in my bulb... gonna be walking around with post its glued to my forehead for a while. Note to self, do not use the nute mix on your plants if halfway thru mixing your products you start wondering if the ph meter is broken. if you keep on adding ph down and the arrow doesn't move, discard all that crap! and the reader! New reader arrived yesterday and the soil ph is at the moment down to 5 or 4.5 depending on the depth!!!!

Curling. 3rd light bulb, 3rd run outside. Went out and flushed the plant that was curling, gave it tons of water last night and this morning the leaves have perked up quite a bit, right decision. ph at 5.5.

    Solution to my various problems.
Thrips are dealt with and have ongoing treatment plan.
To deal with ph and N toxicity (thanks nebula and wattze for putting a name on it!) I plan on flushing all the plants with ph water at 6.5. Then test the soil but I'm not really sure whats next if the ph is still too low. They'll be due for watering or feeding today or tomorrow, I'd love to keep on pushing them but don't want to burn them either.

The diet i feed them is a mix of advanced nutrients and emerald harvest products, we were in the midst of switching from one to the other brand when the association fell a part, felt like I had to use the leftovers advanced and decided to play a little dr frankenstein by mixing both brands. I was not supervised in my defense.

I'm also realizing that my excitement to be part of this forum probably got me over posting, gonna try real hard to limit it to pbs arising or feeding days. I just can't help it, my wife can only handle so much geekiness and I need other ears!!

That makes two of us, my friend! My wife will listen to me ramble forever, but I won't do that to her lol and as far as checking your shed when the ideas pop up, that's exactly me!! I'm constantly thinking about the next best thing for them lol

Nice job in your flush! I doubt that the Runoff would still be below 5 if you continue flushing at 6.5.. once ya corrected, she should stay perfectly fine 😊

The way I look at it, now that you've been checking the PH (the actual PH) you'll be good bro lol and like I said, your setup is freaking awesome, I'd love to dedicate an entire shed to my grow space πŸ˜… But for right now, I just have my tent the next room over lol

Quick update. Tonight was bug night. I sprayed spinosad, sprinkled diatomaceous earth, stuck sticky stakes, strengthened the scrog and a little super cropping too. Soundtrack was Shaka Ponk. the apes are really kicking in the next gear, week 6 starts tomorrow. Good night everyone!

Hey everyone, it was feeding night here, a question, an update and pictures of course. It's my first time dealing with a scrog and this strain in a scrog! πŸ™„
It's grape ape and has been in veg for about 6 weeks. Just wondering what you guys think of my timing to flip them on December 11th? Enough time to fill the net? Too much?
Otherwise, after I transferred the 6 apes to 10gal smart bags, the scrog was lowered thanksgiving morning. It's been fun to train the branches, stoners delight! It's at about 8" from the top of the plants hanging via light hangers. I might raise it a little before flowering.
I just found more thrips so I'm not done with this bs after all... spinosad back on the scene. I feel that all the bugs are waiting for the shed door to open, we need some real cold weather stat!
I'm still considering switching half of my t5s to red spectrum. Is it worth it yield wise or a waste of πŸ’°? I know some of you have shared their opinion but I just can't decide.
I've also raised my leds 6" more than the manufacturer recommended 24". They seem to have perked up a little. I'd know for sure if I'd stop moving those branches around!
      The soundtrack was Zebda.
      Have a good night!

Hey everyone, this is day 1 of flowering! I gave them almost 40 hrs of darkness, switched some t5 to red spectrum, half of them, pushed the flower switch on the leds at 2pm and here we go! I gave these ladies a shot of bud blood along with the rest of the nutes. Water was beautifully phed after food was added. Run off showing a 5.9. I also gave them a spray yesterday while it was dark with some Nuke Em and actinovate to finish on the thrips control and as early mildew preventative.
I believe they're locked and loaded. Now it's stretch control!
the soundtrack today was peter tosh and ijahman, I was powered by pineapple trainwreck and worthy IPA. I hope everyone had a great week end, looking forward to the next 2 months.

Thanks wattze, I decided to flip them one week ahead of schedule so the last 24hrs were a bit of a rush as I was not totally ready. Good thing my grow shop is around the corner, they hooked me up with all the last minute details. I'm super stoked about starting the flowering.

Dude nice!! Are you in Colorado by chance? We have grow centers here, just don't wanna pay for them πŸ˜… But then again, I could definitely get my money's worth..

Ooops almost forgot the other ladies!?!? Misses sour diesel squared and miss big dirty are doing well also. A friend in need of Clones just gave them a haircut but that's plenty of time to recover until February. Quite honestly I don't think the trim phased them at all!

I feel like it's been a long long time since my last update ...
              Day 6 of flowering.
Everyone is doing really good since the switch. I've finally been using real PHed water and it seems the plants are using more of the nute mixture. With a frozen garden hose I was finally forced to use kitchen water at luke warm temp. That also seems it helped with food intake. Either that or the switch itself got the ladies hungrier. I'm continuing my study of bud blood after a second and final dose on Thursday. While it promotes bud formation I read a thread saying it also limits the stretch. The plants haven't shown much expansion yet so maybe that's what it does, saves time on the stretch. Which is fine as I think if they were to stretch more they'd be out of range of the leds.
Despite the ice storm the shed remained at a very good temperature these last few days. Especially after I added extra foam insulation in the veg room. We're still in week 1 of flowering so not much else to report.
The vegetators are doing great as well.

Which reminds me I forgot to mention the defoliation session earlier this week gurued the heck out of by The Green himself! The ladies thank you!

Alright another snow day ! But this time I'm stuck on the couch with a messed up back! So....I thought well shit! might as well smoke a bowl and write in my grow journal!

Wth the help of the gwe musketeers I had a scrog tucking session few nights ago to help manage the budsplosion. Bud Blood is no joke folks! The ladies are stretching quite a lot too. Funny thing is about 5 days ago I was getting all paranoid and sad really, truth must be told, nothing was growing! Wtf!?! Then it seemed like I turned my back on them and bam! La jjoooongle like Cousteau used to say!

Re: the scrog. I wish I had built it with smaller squares, it would make it easier to tuck the branches earlier. Small pieces of Velcro tape are doing the trick though. So 3" wide squares instead of 6". Minor adjustment.

Anyways the girls are happy and healthy, I just sprayed them for a second round with nuke em, thrips final control. Also added some actinovate, a bacterial fungicide, declared super safe by the irresponsible authorities. I'm using it as preventative against powdery mildew.

I really, really like the way the plants handle water in the grow bags(non knitted!). The drying seems way more even between top and bottom and center and outsides from what the hygrometer says. Root rot would have a harder time setting in for sure. Soon as I'm up for it I'll transplant the 3 veg from 5g nursery pots to 15g grow bags, should be plenty of time and space until February switch. Those 2 (+1?) ladies are going to be huge! They'll hopefully fill up the scrog together. 2 monster plants for a monster harvest. Pourquoi pas? Crains degun!

Other than that I'm keeping the flower room day temps around 75-77 max night time bet 60-65. Around 35% rh. The veg room is on 24/0 temps between 75-82 and low rh around 30%. Will most likely use green75 suggestion of the clean rolled up wet towel in the corner to increase it. Winters are dry around here and this room is not as airtight as the other.

Well I think that covers it all. Hope you'll doing great and like someone used to say growers love from the heart!
                Enjoy the pics!

Hey, hey, hey, ho, ho, ho! How's everyone today? Yesterday was a busy day at Lucky Acres. After being stuck in the ice for 4 days I finally was able to make it to my grow store and get much needed supplies. We fed the ladies, repotted the veggers from 5gal to 10gal nursery pots, repotted the teens to 1 gal and the clones to solo cups, adjusted the scrog, hung fly paper, sprinkled diatomaceous earth on soil, swept, organized, tinkered, cleaned up, listened to toots and the maytals, smoked grape ape and drank alphadelic IPA...The 3 veggers don't seem to wanna slow down so they got a major haircut, probably the last big defoliation before flower in February. The thrips seem to be under control at the moment and the buds have started growing, just clipping along on this 3rd week of flowering, love to all!

Hey man, thanks! I definitely had you sitting on my shoulder during defoliation with mai tai in hand and shouting at me "cut more damnit! More, all those fan leaves, cut, cut, cut!!! More, more, more!!!" Or something along those linesπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ pruning is my vice, no shame...
