Not sure what is going on here.

This is only my second grow and not sure what is going on with this plant. This is a Northern Light strain. The seeds were about two years + old and kind of got off to a slow start but all germinated and are about the same size as this plant. Currently the plants are 25 days sent started germinated and have been in Veg 19 days. The new growth looks fine for now but some of the fan leafs are showing some brown spots and fell dry. The is my time using Coco. I checked the PH of the last run off and it was 6.9. The next watering will be plan tap water with a PH of 5.0. I need some advise on how to get the plants on the right path. I did just recently topped the plants and plan on topping on more time before switching from 24/24 to 12/12 along with a little LST. Any advise to get back on the right track would be appreciated.

One other thing I did transplant for soil to Coco on day 3 of Veg but did not start adding the CALiMAGic until day 7 but I did start the nutrients on day 3 of Veg. I hope this is enough info. My first grow in soil (bag seeds) had very few problem (thanks to Nebula Haze) but I really want to get this one right. It just may be the strain but the ladies do not seem to be growing as fast as I would like.

Grow medium - Fox Farms Loco Coco
Nutrients - General Hydroponics Flora Grow, Bloom, Micro Combo Fertilizer and CALiMAGic per Nebula Haze Nutrient Schedule
4x4 grow tent with carbon exhaust fan, humidifier and two small fans set on low speed
Light - Grow Pro LED (about two years old used one grow only) currently set at about 25" above plants not sure of wattage but I think around 500 using only the veg/flower mode on the LED and not flower accelerator.
    PH - between 5.5 and 6.5 average around 6.0
    Temp/humidity 72 degrees and 45"

Next water only drop your pH to 5.8 minimum. Too low it will shock your plant. You want to keep it in the correct range for nutrient uptake.

3 days of veg is a little soon to be adding nutrients. The soil you started them in has enough to keep them going for a little while.

I would flush with 5.8 water and nothing else. Then Next feeding give them a good dose of nutrients and cal/mag.

Wait to top again til shes healthy.

That's good advice from Urbz above, but I wouldn't flush if your ph is 6.9, that's not even that far out, I would just start watering at 5.5 ph, that will lower it soon enough, an that coco-loco has good stuff in it to last 2-3 weeks.

No you can add nutrients now, coco-loco has lots of good stuff in it though, it ain't like pure coco..I was just saying I wouldn't flush yet till I watered a few times with 5.5 water, you might not need to flush after that.

Hey DC, did you rinse the coco? Excess salt could be locking uptake. I've heard many times that runoff ph in coco is not that important, compared to soil. I'm with Daas - ph it on the low side for coco (5.5). If ph is drifting up a bit that is ok too. Different nutes are absorbed best at different ph levels. Good luck!

Yea I water with around PH 5.8 yesterday and they don't look any worse today. I don't think there that sick I just feel I had some old seeds got off to a bad start and they are just not growing fast enough for me. Like I said this is only my second grow and the first in Coco. I'm growing Northern Lights and they just seem to be a small plant. My first grow was just some bag seeds and actually they weren't bad considering I got a little paranoid and harvested about two weeks early. Going to take my time with these ladies. I'm currently growing 6 plants in a 4x4 with a 500 watt LED. When I feel like I have four healthy plants I will toss the other two and give the rest more room and start doing some LST and de-foligaging not going to be aggressive.. At least for now that is the plan. May move one to a closet and get it to flower a single cola ASAP under a couple of Apollo 180 watt LEDs.

I have gotten three different responses on PH from this stream, I was under the impression that Coco Coir was good from 5.5-6.5 and that it was not a bad idea to vary that range as long as not over or under since different nutes are better absorbed at different PH's. My last watering was at 5.8 plan tap water and my next will be half strength General Hydroponics Flora Grow, Bloom, Micro Combo Fertilizer and 1 tsp calmag/gallon. I do appreciate all the response and help and I know you all are experienced so it just goes to show ya there are a lot of frigging variables. Thanks and any more comments will be appreciated. Damn I wished I lived in Nevada, California or Washington-life would be mellower.

You are right on the numbers... But giving it different ph number erry time is screwing youself.. You have no constant.. The ph in medium will always be wavering.. Give a constant 6 and it will all even itself out eventually..
