    Black seed oil instead of coconut oil?

    Is it possible to infuse cannabis with black seed oil?

    #2
    RF, I had to look up black seed oil, but it sounds like a brilliant idea. Especially if you decarb your bud before infusion so as not to use any heat either on the bs oil or the cannabis.

      RFheavy I personally believe in using as little heat as possible so that all the good stuff--including the terpenes, which are an important part of the high's profile for each strain-- stays intact and doesn't evaporate or degrade.
      We all know that heat is bad for cannabinoids, which is why I bought this machine: http://www.ardentcannabis.com/produc...decarboxylator
      However, if you've been getting good results with the crock pot, you don't need one of those machines. Just from all I read, I wanted to have maximum control over the temperature, which can fluctuate in an oven or a crock pot. But if your final product kicks butt, why fix it if it ain't broke? ;-}

      I haven't done oils--only tinctures, which I kept in the freezer and shook daily. LOVE my tinctures!!!

      Isn’t the heat only necessary if the material isn’t decarbed? Or does heat facilitate the infusion?

      Aloner I believe you are correct: cannabinoids and terpenes will infuse in oils and alcohol without heat. I like alcohol cuz you can keep it in the freezer, and it won't go rancid; but I also really like what this woman has to say about making an oil: https://www.growforagecookferment.co...d-infused-oil/

    It would seem likely that cannabinoids are soluble in most if not all plant oils. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
