    Best way to preserve trim

How do I preserve sugar leaf trim, until I can collect enough to justify purchase of dry ice for extracting trichomes? Dry ice is expensive in Florida, so I don't want to spend big bucks for a small amount of kief. Been researching this question on Internet...some say freeze, others say don't freeze. some say dry first, others say freeze fresh. This 78 yr old needs answers - I'm so confused!

I can't say what's the "best" way. I dry my trim with my bud then throw it in a baggie and store it in a dark cupboard. Once we've got a few ounces of trim we do a dry ice shake or make butter or something. I've never frozen before shaking but we do grind the trim up in an old coffee grinder before the dry ice treatment.

I used to do the baggie thing as well, until I found one a the back (forgotten) and it was a brown moldy mess..

Good question marpez - I usually dry mine like BTB - then store it in jars and cure it like the rest of my buds.

I put my fresh trim in the freezer in a zip lock bag until I have enough or until I decide what to do with it. After freezing and when I'm ready to use it, I put it on a drying rack for a couple of days until it's mostly dry then decarb it in the oven for 1 hour at 215 degrees to use it in cooking. If I make dry ice hash, I take it out of the freezer when I'm ready with the dry ice in hand - no thawing or drying necessary. I've made some very kickass butter, hash, etc. doing this. Best way? I don't think it could be any better than what I'm doing, but maybe.
I like big buds and I can not lie.

I cure trim- the same way as bud and then freeze for later dry ice hash making.
I also, freeze fresh trim for later dry ice hash making.
I do not grind etc.. just add the frozen product to dry ice and follow GWE hash tutorial (video).
The last batch was from about 6 months collection and completed early September.
Currently looking to do another batch this month.

Thank you for your input. Treating it like bud makes sense. So I'll dry it, then store it in mason jars until I've collected enough to do a dry ice extraction. This site is awesome...rapid responses, from knowledgeable people. I like! :-)
