temp got down to 26°F last nite... I got 7 babies that started from seed last week of July just to see if they wud make... can't do it like I used to because of the freaking helicopters flying every year now... But I have actually got mature buds on them... Not even four months old... I didn't use any particular strain just out of some very very good pressed. I've had em covered up the last few nights because of frost but it got really cold last night and I'm anxious to see how they're doing and if they made it

I pulled the cover off of them when the sun came out real good. They were cold and stiff but no Frost was on them. The past few nights have been getting down into the upper 30s and it hasn't bothered em so far.. as long as I keep them covered. This is the coldest I have ever waited to harvest. If last night didn't hurt them I'm going to let em go another week because we have mid-60s all week next week.. I will post some pictures of them. But my experiment was to see how fast a regular seed would and could mature planting it very late

I knew that as long as that plant was started when the days are longer than the nights and still getting longer it would come up and then when the nights started getting longer it would mature no matter the size or age..they will make buds...even seeds South of the Border will make bud... Might not make very much but it will make

I don't raise it like I used to... 1999 was my last good big crop had 731 females 7 foot tall in a bottom where we used to raise corn...we cudnt get our wide combines and equipment in this little 2 acre bottom on the creek here so I put weed in it for several years..frickin DEA & Ky State police found em..731 females 7 ft tall...2nd week of Aug 1999... they could not prove it was mine because we own a lot of land & anybody could have put those out right? But anyway... Things ain't been the same since... They fly over our farm every year like a grid... It's hard to get it passed em.. But they always fly from August 1st to about the middle of August... So I see that I can plant after they fly and still Harvest mature bud... it may take 5000 plants to make what 500 would have made growing the whole season... But hey it'll work

Wow, it sounds like you probably have a lot of interesting stories! I can't even imagine that many plants!
Just curious, when you cover your plants at night, what do you use to do it? I live in a warm climate and grow indoors so I don't have any experience with that, but growers in colder climates have asked me the best way to cover their plants at night. It sounds like you have tons of experience growing outdoors in a cold climate!

When I put a cover over them to keep the frost from hurting them I use just a regular tarp that you buy at the hardware store that is used to cover up something you're hauling in a truck or something like that.. But never let the tarp touch the tops of the plants drive a fence post or put something there that will hold the tarp up off the plant.... Nebula Haze texted me back about my pics I've been trying to send... For some reason I can't upload my pics here for you guys to see and I really have some good pics on this experiment about letting the plants go in cold weather... They actually did survive at 26 degrees night... They were covered... But they made it... I still have pics here and I'm trying to upload... And I still have plants growing right now but I plan to cut tomorrow..& I'd like to share with you guys

I have a Money Maker clone that I started for a friend and ended up letting it grow out in my garden. It's over 9' tall now and I'm still waiting for it to finish. We have had quite a few nights in the 20's here and she shrugs it off. The damn deer are another story-it's so dry here that I find evidence of nibbling every night. They don't even eat the bud-I find the remnants on the ground. Friggin Bambi.......
I'll probably have to harvest it next week-supposed to get close to 20 on Sunday.WHAT???
5x5 grow space
