    Odd harvest question about trichomes

1st off I don't currently use any form of cannabis. So this may not be that odd of a question. I understand that you harvest at different times depending on what color the trichomes are. My question is, can I harvest at different stages of trichome development, on the same plant, to determine what best suits me?

I have chronic back pain due to pinched nerves I received during my time as a Marine. I had spine surgery in Nov 2012. Didn't work.

    Thanks.

Yes, that's exactly what you do if you are growing for yourself- vs- harvest for the best yields.

I have one strain (in the pines) I like to harvest early- just start of cloudy trichomes- (better anti-inflamatory effect)
If I wait only 2 weeks more when more cloudy and just the start of amber- the effects are not as good for my useage.
I do give up some final yield, but I grow so I know what's in there!!!

Then there is Tahoe OG Kush- I like to harvest late with ambers @ 10-15%- for a very different effect (narcotic)
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

Dutchman, I have 3 pain relief varieties growing now. Chrystal, Super Skunk, and White Rhino. Nirvana says euphoric, happy and something else for the high and pain, anxiety, and stress relief for effect on all 3, if I recall.

Hey Madman, I grew a White Rhino last spring. It stays low on a scrog and produces a crapload of buds with a few toppings and some LSt. You can see a pic in my media about two weeks before I cut it down. Made a really strong tincture that is great for pain.

Dutchman, that was a nice looking plant. Do you use a basic tincture recipe or is it by strain or THC/CBD content?

I agree with pharma and dutch. I also have 3 compressed discs and 2 bulging in my neck, what works best for me is cloudy/amber trics. The longer you wait the more CBD's are created. High thc = psychodelic effects, high CBD = more body effect, for the simple explanation. Besides, there are NO odd/stupid questions just unanswered ones! Madman960 you are really going hard with this hobby, reminds me of me, just 4yrs. ago!!! Good luck with your babies, brutha!!

Effects. Sorry. I will worry about yields on my next grow. Thanks.

GRAND I have to disagree with your statement: you can't create "more CBDs": a strain either has CBD as one of the cannabinoids, or it's been bred out. You can break THC down into CBN, but not into CBD.

Effects are up with a little narcotic/couch lock. I found if I stay at the low end of my dose it was good but got hammered if I went a little high. Kinda a nice mellow up with great pain relief.

Lol. Thanks. I was just asking because I wanted to make sure I wouldn't harm the plants much by cutting off pieces at different times that close to the end of their life cycle.
