    Wow! Suddenly...BUDS! What Now?

It's amazing...all the disasters my final surviving plant has withstood (most recently a plague of leafminers) but now it's kitted itself out with a full set of new leaves and as of yesterday seems to be covering itself with buds! It has two or three dozen, at least!

OK, so at this point, I understand I should start hitting it with high P and K fertilizer, but I'm unclear beyond that, as the advice I've read doesn't explain differences when growing outdoor in soil (which I'm using) or hydro when it comes to some vague "additional nutrients" beyond the P and K. For soil, do I need anything beyond that?

Also, I read that the plant now needs at least eight hours of total darkness...which is very hard to come by in outdoor suburban growing, but again the differences between outdoor and indoor gardening seem to be unaddressed.

Please, someone straighten me out on this. I want to know what fertilizer to shift to, preferably available locally, inexpensively and in small quantities (is the cactus stuff OK?), and what I should do about the light situation.

Thanks for any guidance. I would NEVER have made it this far without the help I've gotten here!

Something like miracle grow for flowers, just look at the N P and K.
If the plant is healthy fertilizer may not be essential. Good pics would be helpful to anyone offering advice. Normally u don't switch to a flowering fertilizer till about mid way thru flowering, week 4.
If it has started flowering then it's getting enough dark hours naturally.

      @Canuck147

Learned that the hard way in the 90's

Us outdoor growers don't have to worry about that "uninterrupted period of darkness" guff. Well, not exactly, anyway. You just want to make sure you don't have any lights shining on it at night, like a street lamp or floodlight. A little ambient light isn't going to cause problems.

Also, congrats on making it to flowering!

That Miracle-Gro "Bloom Booster" stuff strangely comes in three (3!) different NPK ratios for ostensibly the identical product. All are high P with low N and K. As I understand it, I'm looking for high P and K with low N...but some stuff I've read says high P, low N and K.

      What's that about, I wonder?

This stuff (below) was conditionally recommended elsewhere on this site (in the absence of "anything better"), and it stays conspicuously sold out at the local ACE in the pot-growing aisle. I'm sort of skeptical of the seven drops to the quart business, but what do I know?

If I have another month before I have to start with this, then I have time to sort this out. I had assumed that I had to start feeding the blooms immediately. In the meantime, do I continue with the same fertilizer routine to keep the leaves filling in and green?

      I'll send some pictures later.

Sorry I can't help out with this part of your question -- Kind Soil is a one-and-done super soil. I started adding molasses to their water about 4 weeks into flower but that's it. I'm sure someone will be along soon to answer your nute questions. Good luck!

Should be feeding your plants like this - nutes /nutes/flush

OK, here are some pictures. As you can see, there are lots of little buds everywhere and a lot of new, healthy leaves after dealing with the leafminer disaster. Just watered and the runoff pH is good, everything looks healthy as far as I can tell. Tomorrow is supposedly the last of the really bad heat, though the rest of the autumn is supposed to be warmer than usual, which would be OK, come November.
