Thanks for all of the replies everyone. I do have a desk fan circulating air and an inline fan with carbon filter removing warm air from the top of the tent. While I did have one light per plant, I think more wattage would have been good and nutes should have been introduced earlier and at a heavier dosage. I didn't start until many weeks into the grow and I never exceeded about 1/3 of the recommended dosage. I read so much about nute burn that I think I was a little too cautious. In any event, the quality seems decent and I got 3.5 ounces dry from two plants on my first try.

I'm now working on my second grow which is 3 NL autos and one Royal Queen Diesel auto. I had a 2nd Diesel but the seed didn't make it so I just germinated the 3rd NL and planted the sprouted seed today...hopefully have a seedling break ground this weekend. That one will be about 5 days behind the others, but no big deal. I have them in 3 gallon smart pots with 70% Happy Frog and 30% perlite in the same 2x4x6 tent. I've added a third MarsHydro 300 to the tent and plan to start nutes at 1/4 strength in week 4 and work my way to full strength from there (1/2 in week 5, 3/4 in week 6, full in week 7). How does that nute schedule sound?

I'll eventually add a second tent and possibly different lights, but I like the ability to move these the options that three separate lights provides. My next tent might go for the reflector series, viparspectra, or something completely different...who knows!

Everything sounds gd the perlite to happy frog is perfect, in my opinion I would start nutes weed 2 at 1/4 then by week 4they should be close to full dosage, just play with it and find what ur plants like, each strain likes differeent amounts but that beening said my money maker strain started getting full strength nutes buy week 2.5weeks but I use promix and perlite so a bit less organic nutes in the soil. But the more nutes without burning the quicker she will grow. The rest of ur setup sounds really gd just keep an eye on ph,temp,rh and light distance, and co2 if ur adding any (exhale bag, sugar water yeast method ect...). And ur gunna have an awesome harvest congrats on the last harvest thats not bad at all for a 1st grow. Good job and keep haveing fun happy growing

Light is the greatest factor in more dense buds. Cannabis responds to less light in the vegetative stage as well. In a low light environment the plant will spread out and get incredibly spindly in an attempt to gather more light. The attached photo is of plant grown from a bag seed ,Gorilla Glue (found in dispensary bag), that my son planted which has grown in the kitchen next to a patio door. Desperately seeking photons the plant has the airiest buds I have ever seen.

Strain is also a factor. I set up two separate Water Farms for my second grow. 315 CMH in one, (2) 300W LED in the other. Sativa dom in one, Indica dom in the other. Sativa with CMH was a leggy girl with airy buds. The Indica with LED's got very solid, rock hard buds. I'm chalking up the difference to strain. GH Flora Trio nutes + Cal Mg+., full strength for the 12 week schedule.
Airy buds and rock hard buds work equally well here.

Once nutes are at full strength, would you feed every watering? I was watering about a gall on every three days on the last grow. Adding nutes earlier does make sense since if I wait too long I'll be going right in with bloom nutes and never giving any growth formula.

I ran the last grow on an 18/6 schedule. I'd prefer not to go 24/0 but would 20/4 help with yield and bud density?

Are u growing autos or photos? I cant remeber if u said? Iv veg 18/6 is just fine dnt waste the power iv done 18/6 20/4 24/0 and honestly the 18/6 is basicly just as gd and its only veg so its not a big deal, photos in flower only 12/12 no matter what. Theres different theroys for flower but not worth the hermies if ur growing autos 18/6 or 20/4 is fine for flower I actualy seen slower growth at 24/0 idk why but I did, maybe the plants need a sleep time idk lol

And as far as the watering some people say plain ph water then nutes back and forth but I personaly have found nutes every watering to be more effective. Even in full strength.

I'm doing autos for now...have some photo for next grow and will do 18/6 and 12/12 for those...sounds like the added light and better nutrient schedule along with proper temp's and humidity and the basics should be a big help.

I just follow the directions from GH. During flower, I end up adding .5 gallon of pH balanced water, twice a day. Morning and evening. That's a gallon a day in a two gallon reservoir. Thirsty girls.
At that point, I've been into a 12/12 schedule for a while.
Again, I would look at strain preferences. Many people here seem to use .25 strength nutes. Some use .5 the suggested strength. No downside seen here with 100%. Which could be strain related.
