    Seedlings Tall and Skinny

So I'm new to this, planted some germinated seeds July 16 they are approximately 4-5 inches tall with only 4 leaves . Is this normal. Some pictures I see on line of plants that are two weeks old have several leaves,

Happens often, maybe they dont get enought light or wind couse wind makes ur stem stronger Just tie ur plant on stick or smth to help him get stronger also point fan to ur plant just keep it far enought to prevent wind burn and you'll be aight

It sounds like they're stretching. Are they inside or outside? If inside what are you using for light? If outside, how much direct sunlight are they getting?

Yeah, they're definitely stretching -- how far away is your light? I don't have any hands-on experience with LEDs but I think they're supposed to be around 18". Depending on your light it could be closer or further, you need to experiment since LED fixtures vary greatly from maker to maker. Try moving it 6" closer to the plants (or more if it's really far away). You don't want to burn them but they stretch like that when they're not getting enough light.

When they get bigger and you transplant them, you can bury some of the stem to help correct it.

Well, thanks for the advice. They are doing much better. How many hours of light? Fertilizer?

Looks pretty good so far! I think most people use an 18/6 schedule (18 hours of light, 6 of dark) or 20/4. You could even do 24 hours of light if you prefer. What kind of soil are they planted in? At this stage they need very little if any added nutrients, depending on how rich the soil is. And what do you have in the way of nutrients?

            Ok to chime in here..
not looks like you solved your light issue the generally rule of thumb is 18 inches with led but you can get a light meter if you like
as for nutes.. at this stage I wouldn't maybe some root grower but not much else what soil are you using?
Ok so next is length of light time.. are these auto flower plant? Are they normal?
Auto plant are different so that's a major factor but till we know that let's assume they are normal..
first two weeks I'd do either 24/0 or 22/2
then switch to 20/4 two weeks later 18/6 stay till your ready to switch to flower.. now if they are auto I'd stay like this till they are done but if they are normal you would switch to 12/12 after about two days of complete darkness
