Hello fellow growers,
I'm a new grower so don't shoot me if i say wrong things, i'm also not from Amerika or Uk so my English writing could also be a bit wrong ...
Anyway, my plants are now in veg for about 3 months. I thought, its beter to do things slowly and not put any pressure on me and the plants.
Now, i'm gradually bringing them into flowering stage. I do this by giving them everyday 15 min. more darkness so they think the seasons are changing.
but while i'm doing that i've checked the Ph of the runoff and it was way to low around 5.4 - 5.3 (and i grow in soil) The EC was also around 4.8 - 5.0... So i was kind a worried but the strange thing was that i never had any nutrient deficiency's neither nutrient burn problems? my plants look quite healthy i thought...maybe strong genetics?
My concerns begun when i mostly read about EC values round 2.0 during late stages of flowering... so i did some research and because they have still two more weeks until they reach the full 12/12 cycle i decided to flush them just to make sure there are no salt-buildup's by the roots... I hope they recover in 2 or 3 days because i need to transplant them aswel before flowering.
I know it's a lot of stress for them and i wil check them every day if they recovering so until then i do nothing.
After that they have stil 10 day's to settel before 12/12 kicks in fully.
My question is, are these PH-EC values seriously out of range? Is this because i veged longer than other growers and thats why EC is that high?
What do you think about flushing them 2 weeks before flowering? Maybe this was not needed but i thought maybe they need les nitrogen and other nutrients so they can pick up new nutrients after the transplanting is done...
And should i put some calcium into the new medium to balance the Ph beter? How do u manage the right Ph all the time?
I hope i didn't ruined my plants with that flushing but 5.0 EC was in my eyes to high going and the PH was also very low. So i hope my thought where right.
I'm growing purple buds from white label/sensi seeds so the genetics are from a wel known bank... My PH and EC meter are from bluelab and i've calibrated them recently so that the readings are as correct as possible.
My fertilizers i use are from Canna the full 100% organic Bio-line and i follow the schedule they prescribe.
I vedged them under 8 TL light bulbs and now i'm switching them to a K3 L600 kind LED light...
Foto's are from 06-07-2017 but i wil upload new soon !
Thanks !!
