Need to move my 1 Month Automatic plants outside - Need advice please

    Hi!
First grow for me and all going well but I have a situation where I need to move my 3 plants outside into the forests of Northern Europe. They are Northern Lights feminised automatics. So far they have been indoors with 600w LED in large pots with coco pertile 70/30 about average 25 degrees celcius and 45% humidity (I know that's a bit low). I recently started them on trio grow nutrients and the plants look heathy and happy.

My wife doesn't like this stuff so it's either out with the plants or out with me haha. I'd hate to see them die as I have invested a bit in them already and would love to see them grow up and reep the benefits ofcourse. It's a good time of year here as there is heaps of light about 20 hours a day and I am thinking maybe I have a chance of keeeping them going in the forest. It is a mild summer though and can drop down to about 12 degrees at night but I'm hoping that will change soon as this is cold for this time of year.

What do you guys think I should keep in mind so I have the best chance of keeping them going? So far all I am thinking is I need to find the right place where they will have sun near a water source and secure. I am also thinking I will need to get them out of coco and dig a hole in the ground and transplant them into good quality soil. Can I transplant out of coco and into soil? Any tips would be ver very much appreciated so I can keep my babies alive. Not from here and would love to have my Friday night smoke back like I used to have back home (ok maybe it was more than just Friday night) ha! Please help

    Hi,
i advise to keep them out for sometime everyday, to let them get accustomed to outdoor conditions. You need a sunny place, so best would be for you to find the spot, stay a day over there to see where the sun falls the longest, and plant them there. You can transplant from coco to soil, but be careful, most probably if roots have taken most of the pot, you'll have to dig a bigger hole than the pot, put soil all around, and the pot with the coco inside that hole... Can't remove the coco without tearing the roots! (unless it didnt develop in the whole pot yet).
You do not have to find a place where water is near, unless when you come you want to take that water to use on them (i'd advise bringing your own water, its troublesome but finding a GOOD stealthy place with water nearby is almost impossible). I also advise keeping some mulch, like that when it rains your plants will have water for a longer timer

I'm a first time grower, outdoor, i'm not a pro.
Inexperienced outdoor grower, near Switzerland. I have some theoretical knowledge and only a little bit of practice, hence take what I say with a grain of salt. Also I believe everyone has his own growing way.

Thanks for the advice. I was worried about the roots but I don't think they will have grown around the pot yet as I planted them in the pot that they were going to end up in so I wouldn't have to transplant. I guess if some coco falls away in the transplant it's ok but Would it be too risky to try and remove any from around the sides and the bottom?

Its up to you, I have never used coco, so I can't really know/advise on that :/

Hello Bear great information from 96 , NL autos were a good choice because of their hardiness. At least give them a chance to live, your gonna need some good soil, bring your own water and feed and I bet in another month or so you'll have some nice bud to enjoy. Good Luck.

hey Bear Minoo has good advice when I look for a spot to grow I look for a south facing spot with morning sun (this will be huge in the fall when they get wet at night) and I would find a local water source theirs nothing like carrying two 5 gallon buckets of water for a mile to make your shoulders feel like they are falling off lol I paint my buckets with lids you can get them at a local supply store and I leave them with the grow. now when Iv'e found the grow sight I dig holes for the plants. You can plant them but in your case I don't think you can get enough soil around the coco so that you dont have to use nutes . when I use nutes outside I mix in a 1 gallon jug I put in the amount of nute for 5 gallons carry the gallon out to the grow site and add to 4 gallons of water. when I'm looking for a spot I find a stream and follow it looking for openings in the canopy you have to find a spot no one else wan't to go , if you see blow downs check them out if its hard for you to get to them others wont follow it really sucks to loose a grow after a summer of hard work . if you have questions ask away the picture is how I think they should look when you are done planting

Nice looking plants! really hope mine end up looking as healthy as that. So when I transplant from coco to soil, do you think I'll need to continue nutes straight away? Or the soil should have enough in it for a couple of weeks? At the moment I'm feeding when the first inch of soil is dry, how do you do it in the wild? Thanks! Really hope I can get myself some nice bud to take me through the winter, I'll certainly give it my best😉

Bear Im sorry for not getting back to you sooner I take a cheep water meter out with me , I have them on a 3 day schedule and its been raining at least once a week so I've only had to water three or four times once you put them in soil it should take care of the nutes depending on how much soil you end up using, watch your plants and they will tell you if they need something
