Radiant heaters do not heat the air, they are electromagnetic radiantion that has yet to be converted into heat. Once it reaches a physical material, the energy is then converted. Using such heaters in a grow environment would likely be not a good idea, you would not be warming the air and even if it is heating the plant itself, you have no idea how much. You could be cooking it or not providing enough heat.
I will let others detail their experiences.

Danof you should be a technical writer you are always clear and to the point well said .danof is right I have used one of those electric radiators and it worked but they run your electric bill up alot. In my grow room the temp. swings alot low being 50 in winter and highs in 70's in winter .when it does that it turns my buds purple. the plants themselves handle it well ,so unless your temps go down lower that that I wouldn't worry about it
new grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

I think the ability to make things clear comes from the notion that i am not an expert, having learnt things from the idea that if you cannot explain it simply enough. You dont truely understand it (Albert Einstein).
I have written a couple of articles which i am pleased with, i am currently working on two big topics which is going to take me a while for the very reasons previously said.

Inverse Square Law, Light & Lighting Technologies

        Plant Photosynthesis & Common Misconceptions.

Its going to be a while however.

Jeg good point, the red light is visible light in the red spectrum. Technically an inefficiency. This light could pose a problem for plant photoperiod behavior. However this would depend on the intensity.
