I have a 600 Watt viparspectra over 6 plants that are vegging. Should I have both switches on because as of right now I have had them just on veg and then are not really doing anything. I've had them for about a week now

Should I veg my plants with both veg and bloom switches on?

You'd think that if a LED comes with separate switches for veg and flower that the designated spectrum would naturally be selected for each growth phase (wouldn't you?). I was a little disgruntled to find out after my last (rather unimpressive) grow -- using just the flower switch turned on during flowering -- that the manufacturer (Mars Hydro) advises that both switches be operating for the latter phase. This time round, I'm reluctantly sacrificing economy and keeping both switches on for the entire grow.

I've used my P300 to veg with only the veg switch enabled, it worked great for two plants and saved me a bit on electricity.Sand, sea, sun, sausages, and sinsemilla.

Hi mate, good choice of lighting. Viparspectra seem to make a decent LED grow light, ive personally seen great results from the exact 600W you stated.
Just breifly, using both veg & bloom settings would be more beneficial to you during veg. This allows for not only a much broader spectrum of light in your grow environment but also more intensity of each wavelength throughout the spectrum.
However, apparently when she starts to flower, the bloom setting alone will benefit bud development and reduce 'bushyness'.
Each setting still projects a small amount of WHITE light which contains both blue (veg) and red (bloom) light. So its not completely eliminating one or the other.
You can obviously keep both 'bloom' & 'veg' running simultaneously during the entire grow, which is what I recommend from experience.

I have used Platinum lights before and they have the two switches. I got good results starting with the veg only for the first 3 weeks, then using both until the trichomes have mostly turned opaque and then used the flower spectrum only for the last week. The lights I have now produce a white light, full spectrum which I enhance during the veg stage by adding a blue light bar and then during the flower stage by adding a red bar. Worked great last time around. We'll see what happens this time, just began germination today.Current grow_ coco based medium, Fluence LED lights, AIT, 5 gallon planters,
