Outdoor growers please help, clones flowering prematurely...?

    Hi All

Hopefully some of the experienced outdoor growers can chime in here
Was out at my buddy's outdoor grow this weekend. He's been buying clones from a reputable local clone dealer and planting them outdoors in his lovely little "monkey cage" grow area.
The plants seems to be adjusting well but some of them, specifically the Sour Double and Blue Dream have started popping out flowers ... in June.

There's no way the plants have had 12 hours of solid dark, they were planted in May in SoCal.
There's probably been some heat down there, Summer in SoCal, but otherwise the only real stress is the transplant.

Is there anything to be done?
    Will they re-veg?

Many thanks, no real experience with outdoor growing myself.

    TIA

Brit no solid solution or answer just gonna share my current experiment. Stuck some sour d and atf clones outside early April, was gonna grow them outside all the way. Month later they were making flowers but they didn't look right. Brought the 4 atf inside the flower room, they're short but they got nice buds growing now. The sd batch is ... different.... buds kept on growing but during stretch these weird rounded leaves showed up too. Went ahead and hacked them boxwood hedge style just to see how they'd react...and that's what I have today...a bloody mess of plants but I'm still watching and enjoying that show!!!! And who knows it might even bloom some day too !

Thanks Lucky, I think they'll re-veg but only time will tell.
      Couldn't see your pics alas

I found a thread on Grasscity that suggested that 24/0 clones are likely to flower prematurely unless they're getting a solid 15 hours of sun.
The thread goes so far as to suggest that clone sellers are doing this maliciously to sell a second set of clones to the same buyers ... seems a bit Machiavellian to me, but the ingenuity of greed in this country seems to have no limits so who knows...

I quit growing clones because of this exact problem.

Hi Dan, good to know. My friend brought about 12 clones and maybe 3 or four have pre-flowered. The rest seem to be vegg'ing just fine.

Did you trash your premature flowerers or did you let them re-veg?
