    outdoor grow

So summer has finally arrived and I have placed a couple clones outside in the middle of the veggy garden. a Northern light and a Cali kush so I was thinking of mulching ? I mulch most of my veggy crop, helps them retain moisture and keep the roots cool on the hot days,,, green thumb instincts make me think it's fine , any opinions?

You don't have to ask us for such decisions. Mulching can't really be bad. It's an excellent idea. You can mulch with fresh cut grass, it's full of nitrogen. (Mulching has many uses not only keeping the humidity of the ground)

I would do a little bit of mulch to regulate your soil temps and hold on to soil moisture. My issue with a thick mulch is when it allows slugs to multiply during wet spells, and they proceed to munch on foliage, though with a larger plant that may not be much of a problem. Good luck! 🌿

I put down some hay that's been cut and erraticated to kill weed seeds, it works pretty good, I'll update how it works out, understand the slugs, I have DE that is used in the pool filter, it's like microscopic glass to the slugs, works great at cutting the slimy bastards up. 🤘

Oh yeah, slugs aren't the biggest problems... I mean you could always set traps, use diatomaceous soil, or even products against slugs and snails in particular. Compared to the benefits of mulch, there's no question in my mind. ^^

            Edit:traps with beer for instance.
