how to tell if u have male or female

    #2
If u look where the stem meets the 3 branchs ull see 2 stiples (little green things) the left picture with the stiples that are straight it means it's a male. The right picture where the stiples cross eachother that means it's female. These plants are 10days old and u can tell clear as day what the sex is. I thought I'd post this for people who are unsure of the sex of there plants. And this was a good side by side to show people

Those plant haven't showed sex yet. They're too young. What you are seeing is a little "protector" of the place where the preflowers are going to be.

I went back and looked at GWE articles on plant sex; Nebula writes that the stipules won't always be straight up on male plants:

"Although this plant ended up being male, the stipules are long, pointy and crossed like you'd normally see with a female plant. That's why you need to confirm gender with the pre-flowers and not just look at other factors on the plant!"

This quote is from the pre-flowers page http://www.growweedeasy.com/preflowe...le-pre-flowers

Tyler, I think you have to wait until you see the little sacs or longer, thinner calyces to know for sure. So get out the super magnifying glass!!

tyler_hobbyist, I have had male plants with crossed stipules before and females that had parallel stipules as well. Also, the 'myth' about even or offset leaf stems showing the sex of the plant, is wrong. I have had plants (both male and female) that either had offset and aligned leaf stems on the same plant.
The only two certain ways to tell the sex of the plant is either send a sample to a lab and have it tested genetically, or wait until the calyces either pop-out pistils or plump-up into pollen sacks.
But keep looking, You may find something that others have not seen or correlated with the sex of the plant!
