    WidowXNorthern: second grow

Hey guys, how are we doing today? So this is my second attempt at growing. My firend gave me a feminized widowXnorthern from her plant last month and i decided to pop her in while i waited for my fem skunk from seedsupreme. She is currently 22 days old and in my personal soil mix: 1/4 ecoscraps organic soil, 1/4 perlite(2" at bottom for drainage), 1/4 worm castings, and 1/4 coir. She has now had two feedings with 1/2 tsp grow big, 1tsp calmag, and 1Tbsp big bloom. After mixing i ph to about 6-6.5. She is currently under 4/35w actual cfls(165w equiv) agrobrites and on a 18/6 schedule. It's been about two days since transplant. I couldnt wait to get inside and take a peak, was just getting home from work around 6. She is absolutely loving her new grow space and pot. Oh, i almost forgot her main stem is starting to thicken up and put out some internodle growth. What do you think, are her leaves showing more of her indica side or her sativa side? I know that white widow is about 60% sativa/40% indica and northern lights is about 5% sativa/ 95% indica, so i would assume more indica with the broad leaves she has. But seeing as its my first actual grow, i cant really decide.lol i hope everyone has a great end to their Sunday. Peace and love GWE!

Just saw the pic links. The leaves look hybrid right now, but you can't really tell till they get some full growth leaves. I am growing G13 Haze now, it's a sativa dominant strain but it didn't have the slender leaf fingers till it was about 30+ days old.

Morning guys, woke up early today since its my day off and did some work on the girls. Two days ago i spotted two adult fungus gnats on the topsoil of my original plant, so I added two hanging fly traps for them 12hrs ago and havent seen any adults flying around like yesterday. I decided to add about 2" of perlite as a top dress for the pots after transplanting the original seedling that had been water damaged. After some reading i decided to give making a CO2 generator a shot; its set up to where both plants should get adequate amounts with two fans circulating the air in the space. Both her and her younger(but much bigger) sister have some awesome root balls. The younger one is 24 days today and is much healthier, shes almost finished with her third set of fingers, which are her first five pointed fans. I also picked up a bottle of Bushdoctor: Kangaroots and Flying Skull: Nuke 'Em. The Bushdoctor is to help the roots recover from whatever damage may have been caused from the gnats. The Nuke 'Em is my insurance, just in case the gnats make a comeback or for anything else that may creep up later down the road.

Good afternoon everyone, figured id do a recap since its lights off. The little girl is 26 days today amd just finished putting out her 5th node, her first 7 pointed fans. Just before lights off i FIMed the new growth, 6th node, to break the apical dominance. She is steadily growing and putting out new internodle growth. Was just watered two days ago with phd water and calmag, she'll be getting a bit more nutes for the next watering than she has been. Fingers crossed the FIM will bring me new colas.

Good morning everyone, its 6am and just got home from work. Checked on the girls and they are doing amazing since transplant. The larger has almost doubled in size and put out a ton of internodle growth since transplanting last week. Today is feeding and im going to be giving her more nutes because of the increase in size. So fingers crossed!

Those girls look gorgeous, how did you get such long branches for the first set of leaves on them? Does it just look like that from defoliation? I havent attempted defoliating my little girl yet

Hey oldjarhead, work wasnt to bad. I manage a restaurant at one of the casinos here in Connecticut, so its not to bad. I actually dont have a link, i pieced it together from reading about them at a bunch of different places.

The recipe normally calls for you to take a 2L fill it 1/3 of the way with luke warm water( about 80°F so the yeast can activate) you add a cup of sugar and shake it to dissolve as much sugar as possible. Then you take a whole yeast packet and another 1/6-1/3 of a bottle shaking it gently before adding it to the sugar solution. You want a hole in the cap of your bottle just wide enough to run a tube into it. I melted my tubing to the cap and at the open end almost the same way you would to melt a cellophane. After, i put duct tape around the cap and hose to ensure a proper seal and cut slits along the tubing about halfway through. Most people say when the metabolism dies down, which you can see because it produces bubbles, you can add some sugar and shake it up to see if it bubbles again. If it doesnt then you want to make a new batch.

Jack, you asked above about the leaves on my plants: I don't think I did anything; that's just its leaf pattern... They are monster leaves...

Hey i hope everyone is having a good night. I just watered the girls tonight with their plain calmag and phd water. The runoff is amazing, holding steady at about 6.3-6.5 every water, which they take about every 4 days now and theyre up to a little over half a gallon before runoff. I also did some light defol on the lower growth that was right against the perlite so she will focus on sending the energy up the plant. Im definitely thinking i may have to do one more transplant right before flower with the rate shes growing.lol

Hey everyone, so earlier this morning i did a light defol and FIMed a whole bunch of new growth coming from the internodle branches. It's been about 15hr and shes already starting to fill back in, tomorrow is feeding day so i cant wait to see what she does in the next week. Im hoping to get her nice even and wide.
