Slow Going

I've got a couple Blue Dreams (sativa) and a couple Malama Ainas (Indica). They all went into the flowering stage back in the beginning of September.
Then around the beginning of October the sativas seemed to revert back to the vegetative stage and they don't seem to be returning to the flowering stage.
(the pictures show the vegetative growth spurts that occurred at the tops in October)
(also I should add that they have spent the majority of their lives growing outside ... I only recently brought them into the greenhouse to protect them
from some seriously inclement weather that happened here )
Has anyone ever experienced this phenomena before and will they eventually get back to flowering?
Also I'm wondering what the thoughts are on aggressively trimming stem leaves from the plants before harvesting? Seems like if I get rid of a bunch of them,
it might force the plant's energy to the flowers rather than wasting energy on leaves ....?

what part of the world are you from......its a little late in the year for 12 hrs and 12 hours outside ....sativas take forever tho

Is it possible that they started getting light at night? In order to stay in the flowering stage they need to be getting 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness each night. If they get light during their dark period they can revert back to the vegetative stage

Green 75 , I'm up in the Pacific NorthWest of the USA , right at the beach (about a mile inland) , mild temps so far this winter (50's at night and 60's in the day).
Even with those temps in mind , we've had a rather torrential intro this past month! (well over 15" of rain in four days of the last two weeks) .... which brings me to you
.... NebulaHaze , I started thinking about it after I wrote my post .... and yes , you're both right on the 12 - 12 cycle. When I was reluctantly allowed to invade the greenhouse
with my girls , I didn't really think about the lights in there. They are incandescent 250 w heat flood lamps .... I figured they were of no consequence in the light spectrum consideration.
We normally keep them on just to keep it warm in there.
So , even though they're not anything close to a grow lamp , they can still screw up a plant's cycle ...?
(btw ... I am now turning them off at night )

.... p.s. what's the consensus on aggressive stem leaf trimming while flowering/before harvesting ... ?

plant is doing well- will update the post next week with a pic and seek advise on continuing. I have always done targeted leaf removal and keeping the canopy clean- but never to the degree I'm attempting in the thread.

Thank you ALL for the input .... There is an incredible amount of info on this site! I'm glad I found it and I'm glad I'm a member!
Now that I've screwed up my plants light cycle , I have no idea how long it will be before harvest .... way back in September when they first started flowering ,
I thought I'd be harvesting about now .... and I've always been of the mindset that I would be 'surgically' harvesting anyway (Not all at once).
I've brought these girls up in a very untrained manner (other than some sticks to keep them from falling over) and like I mentioned , outdoors.
Towards the end of summer (in September) I wheel them over under my redwood tree and get them out of the heavy nightly dew that we get around here.
I will keep posting my 'progress?' / failure in pictures so I can learn and educate myself to grow better! Thank you , thank you!
I'm also still of the mindset that I'm going to continue to defoliate because I feel that my plants need any and all help they can get at this stage.
