Seed question

Hi, guys and gals,

My last grow wasn't the best. I normally grow fem plants, and on my last round, I had 3 from 10 that turned hermie (through stress, I'm sure). Shortly after switching to 12/12, I noticed these plants had balls, so I got rid of them. At harvest time, I noticed one of the plants had a few seeds. I'm unsure why this plant produced these seeds, but my question is, would these seeds be any good, or are they likely to be useless?

I also had another plant that stressed (starved and dried out a week before harvest). I watered it, then left it for another week. When this one was harvested, it also produced some seeds,
I'm wondering if the seeds were there because of the stress? AND, will the seeds be good or worth growing?

All these plants were in the same tent.

Thanks.

Hi Geeza...what you are describing sounds like seeds formed as a result of stress. I've found a few seeds in my flower from time to time because of stress. The seeds should display the characteristics of the mother. And IMHO, are worth growing out.

Geeza, if all your plants are female, then one of your plants most likely Hermied. If that is the case, then all of the seeds are female. You can plant them, and I have gotten some really good smoke from some. The problem with hermied seeds is that you never know how they are going to grow. I usually use them to experiment with a new type of training. LST, manifolding, something I haven't tried before. That way, you don't waste good seeds if things don't work out.

Hello Geeza. Chipmunk here. I have had good luck growing hermie seeds but in my experience, I get hermie plants from hermie seeds.

Hi Kingfish, that's interesting, and if you're correct about the seeds being female, that is awesome! When you say, "you never know how they are going to grow"
Do you mean, they still have a chance of growing out as hermies?

Stress herms usually make sketchy seeds tbh. Some might grow fine, but chances for more hermie traits go way up. I’d maybe pop one for fun later but I wouldn’t build a whole grow around them lol.

Hey sweetazbro,
This is why I was concerned and posted. I wanted to confirm before starting any. The seeds look fine and are firm, but yeah, it would be too costly and devastating to rely on another full cycle only to find more hermies or males,
Just curious, Do I detect a bit of kiwi?
