Its coco with perlite im watering when dry I've let it go bone dry now before I water just in case its root problems do you reckon the tin foil on the walls has anything to do with it?

Foil is fine. RetiredGuy mentioned broad mites. Don't rule that out. Did you check out the link?

Weston when the roots get dry they are damaged, so I agree with root issues and add it may be from under watering. I will also say I dont do coco.
