plant problem

In the last 24 hrs this plant went from fine to bad. Photos show how the leaves have drastically drooped. this has moved down the stem halfway with the lower growth unaffected. I see no insect infestation, the only difference I see is the stem partially brown compared to the rest of plant. I did see a paper hornet on the plant, but thats is it. I have had some minor kill off on smaller branches that I removed. Help Please!!

Hi, Oldsmoker.
Another old smoker here.

I usually grow in a greenhouse with 50/50 coco/perlite, but have done a couple of outside, soil grows and years of veggie gardening. I'm going to throw out a couple of ideas based on the severe wilting: 1) Lack of water, even possibly overwatering, and 2) Structural damage to the stem.
I see some brown leaf tips, but am assuming it is nuteburn.

You other forum growers have any guesses?
