Can anyone give me pointers on if this plant is male or female and if it's a sativa or indica. And if I should change the light schedule yet it's on a18 hour on light schedule now when should I switch to 12 on 12 off. Thank you

How old are the plants? Soil, coco, hydro? Nutrients? Lights being used? They look nice and healthy overall but the more experienced here will need that to start assistance. I looked at both pics and there is something in the second that has me suspicious but it isn't clear enough. Welcome aboard.

I can not tell anything about to sex from the angle of the pics. It looks like it's probably an indica or indica dominant strain. You can change the lights to 12/12 whenever you want but if you do it too early you will end up with small yields. Show us more pictures, closeups of the nodes for sex id and pics of the overall plant to judge size and healthiness. This along with the information that has already been requested will go a long way in getting you the type of help you're looking for.

Also to early to tell sex on it, it does look Indica or Indica dominate, just look at those fat fingers!.

Well either you topped it or it's a clone that was topped and yes it's indica. Without more info I don't know what to tell you.
