Low temps in late flowering

Hey everybody.first time posting on here.I have several unknown sativas in the last week or two of flowering.They are outside in soil,in good health.We are about to get our firs cold snap (around 50 degrees) and im wondering if i should move them inside or if they'll be ok.Any help is appreciated as i'm basically a newbie to this.Also does the cold benefit them in any way.

Once the temperature gets under 50°F many plants start growing slower and may start suffering, though some strains are more resistant than others. I've seen some plants get freezing temperatures overnight and barely seem to notice, while other times even a light frost can shock a plant hard.

If you can insulate the soil so it stays a little warmer, that can help the plant be more resistant to cold. The plant above was left on the cold ground of a basement overnight, which probably made the symptoms worse.

One good thing about cool night temperatures if if you have a plant that is genetically predisposed to turn color (like purple or pink), cool nights tend to bring the colors out!

I have found that most indica strains hand the cold better than plants with more sativa genetics. I have had indicas live and be healthy thru 2 or 3 decent frosts even. And I have seen sativas pretty much shrivel and and just about die after a night of 35-40 degreees

Not saying a frost won't hurt an indica or that a sativa won't survive one. More of a statement about general observation

If your temps come back up during the day they will be OK. If they are mobile, I would bring em in, less chance of them getting any cold stunting. I have mine in the ground, hard freezes are the only time I had problems, with cold temps. Side note a cold spell has helped my long flowering plants to mature, also can get plants that get fall purple color. Good luck brother.

How tall are your girls? I'm an indoor grower but have used Carlsoti's suggestion of covering "legal" outdoor plants with poly to protect from frost. I would suggest using stakes to keep poly off plants but it needs to cover completely to the ground. That way the warmed of the ground helps temps inside poly a few degrees.

Good advice, and it allows you to add over the poly additional insulating material, such as old blankets, comforters, bubble wrap, even fiberglass batting..depending on how cold it is expected to get. Just be careful with windy situations and make sure everything is secure.

Covering will protect from a frost. If in pots bring em in for the night, pop back out under the sun next day. If they in the earth, and it's going to be cloudy and cold or cold and wet, they not going to do much more growing, and may get bud mold. Consider early harvest. I had a plant killed by cold, it looked like the tops lookin like boiled spinach. Plant was pretty useless. Note if your neighbors are covering garden plants ur plants use coverin like the others stated.
