amount of Resin = Amount OF Thc ??

hi guys
all we are knows Trichorms and resins Contain highly Level of Thc And psychoactive Cannabiods
so Can We Say More Amount of Resins means more Thc potency ??
if its True .. why sometimes we gave a highly resinous weed with good aroma and smells , and even its shine in the light but dont have real heavy effects after use compare than normal bud with normal levels of trichorms and resins
 
Im a believer of the science is not quite there yet- at least in the form of building CBN and CBD receptive behavior. Advanced studies on how much or for how long does one need to dose cbn cbd or thc to achieve the medical relief they need or want. Since all effects or methods of intake are different, the building blocks within the cells and blood have to co-exist and act together in positive or negative ways.
 
I've heard it called the entourage effect. It's the thc combined with the other cannabinoids and terpenes which give you your various effects. Like chemichael mentioned, we don't know much about it. All of these components interact with our endo cannabinoid system, which we also don't know much about. We're on the frontier of understanding all of this and I think it's exciting!
 
Absolutely! It's like trying to nail down one definition of being "high" or "stoned". Many possibilities!
 
I will say this based purely on my experience over the years. Buds having more trichomes does seem to be associated with higher potency, but not always. I've smoked some bud that was very strong even though it didn't really have a lot of visible trichomes. Some of the potency is in the calyxes/buds themselves, not just the trichomes. That being said, when I'm choosing bud, I always go for the glittery stuff because it usually tends to be better.

When it comes to the measured percentages of different cannabinoids, there are also seems to be a loose association. Buds that measure higher in THC tend to be stronger, but I've had buds that measured at 20% THC be much stronger than buds that measured at 30% THC (which I've only seen once, but it was not that impressive). I think there's a lot more going on with other substances and cannabinoids that are making a big difference in the effects.

Just harvesting a nice grow. 3 Nirvana Papayas using Nebulas' modified mainline technique + scrog. Unlike my last grow, the sugar and fan leaves don't have much frost. But, the buds themselves are loaded with trics and resin. Need to dry and cure before I can report on the smoke, but the buds are beautiful, without much sugar on the leaves. I posted a couple of pics. Apologies for my poor quality camera...

Sort of like, 20% is all thats needed to activate the highest high, and based on factors like your body, your resistance, your mental state and social setting, as well as cbn and cbd build up over the course of a day or week or month that adds the extra effects when we sorta of reach the pinnacle of getting high. I do reach that pinnacle from time to time but its sort of few and far between now. Im studying effects of indica and sat strains during the day and how mood, environment, workload add or reduce the length of time you benefit from the meds. but I blabber
 
When they breed strains of cannabis, they are generally trying to exploit the 'good' aspects of the parent plants. Sometimes that is yield, or color, or flavor, or effect, or specific medical characteristics. So, if the parent plants are high THC producers, then the new strain is expected to have the same high level of THC.
Seed producers will supply information on high THC plants on their web sites.

What a great plant. There you have two completely opposite effects being asked of one plant, and the plant can literally make everybody happy. What a great plant.
 
I have a theory about the trichomes on the leaves thing. I've noticed when a plant has relatively small buds (either because of strain, training, or even if it's just lower on the plant) there are lots more trichomes on the nearby sugar leaves and fan leaves. But the bigger the buds, the more it seems like all the trichomes stay on the buds themselves. I wonder if there's a "set amount" of trichomes, and if it doesn't have enough room on the buds it "spills" onto the nearby leaves.

Which then makes you wonder if there's some sort of "best bud size" for each strain that gets the highest concentration of trichomes on buds as possible, without losing some to nearby leaves. But these are all just random musings :)
 
Thanks Royal. Nebula, we just finished trimming the Papayas and experienced exactly what you are theorizing. Last plant had lots of smaller buds down low but they had way more trichomes on sugar and fan leaves than the bigger buds.
 
Thank u For sharing informations on your exprience nebula u always do that in Growjournal too and i was searching for chance for saying thanks to you because of sharing 100% exprienced Tutorials for us. in this case my exprience very close to your exprience and now I think Resins and trichoms Contain Half or less Of total Potency of Buds in my oppenion
