I have a question in regards to my lighting,,,Im running a 600w switchable,,,I'm gonna use the stock bulbs,,,I am growing auto's,,,Im only guessing here but I think I can run my MH bulb till I see first signs of pistis then change over to HPS,,,is that stupid,,,should I run HPS through the grow

With autos it doesn't really matter as much but yes try to run mh then when ur ready to sart flowering and see bud sites switch to hps 600w should be about 24 inchs just watch ur plant if u notice light stress (90degree claws) then move ur light further away. Autos need more light than photos. Also sativas need more light than indicas. I personaly grow autos in soil if u have any questions feel free to pm me :)

I've never grown autos... Let me look over on GWE:

"Auto-flowering strains will automatically start flowering (making buds) after around 3-4 weeks, a time period dependent on the specific strain. You cannot change this; autos will automatically start flowering due to an internal countdown. After they start making buds, they will stay in the flowering stage until harvest time. Harvest is usually 2-3 months from seed and depends almost completely on the strain.

Therefore, with auto-flowering plants, there is no special light schedule "needed." The grower does not need periods of darkness to initiate the flowering stage and get plants to bud properly. You can grow an auto-flowering plant from seed to harvest even if you were giving just 12 hours or even 8 hours of light a day and it will still make buds and be ready to harvest. However, to get the best yields you want to take advantage of the fact that you can give autos a lot of light each day since (up until about 20 or 22 hours/day) more light each day = more growth = bigger yields." That's from

Looks like you should go with HPS all the way through, from what I skimmed.

Hey Tyler,,,thanks for the in put,,,I just know from what I learned on the website that the MH has better color spectrum for veg stage,,,I am going to do exactly that,,,wait for bud sites to form and change bulbs
