1000 HPS dimmable ballast when to switch power

I am in week 5 of my grow and I am using a 1000w HPS bulb with a dimmable switch 500w 750w and 1000w. When do I change watts and in what order.

I'm not an exspert, but there's a lot of different factors 1st. Are u growing phots or autos?? What's the strain? Can u upload pics?

If you can handle the heat and keep your grow lights a good distance away (a 1000W on average is kept ~22" away), you want to use as much light as possible. Light is like food for your plants, and the more light the bigger the buds (up to a point, of course). Generally growers only turn down their lights for young plants, or if they're having trouble with heat or light burn. I hope that helps!
