What really causes Purple in plants

Thanks everybody. Since I started these outdoors in a makeshift light enclosure in early winter (see pics), I was thinking the cold weather could've helped them to show purple. Why some plants growing in the exact same conditions didn't show purple, has me leaning towards genetics as...

What really causes Purple in plants

Howdy folks. I grow outdoors, and I have been selectively "breeding" my plants over many years, to produce the traits I desire. Mainly I'm going for purple with indica dominant traits/qualities, while trying to minimize (breed out) the sativa influence. Often I hear on the site, that nutrient...

    Freaks

My freak from back in November (See my earlier post) turned out to be a frog. It croaked... But my new gals are thriving. Not a freak amongst em. No frogs either!

What are your mantras to get you through anxiety, panic, stress or despair?

If available, a Demerol drip really works well when in need of an attitude adjustment. Or on a lighter note:

    Trichomes all over fan leaves?

I had a couple of outdoor gals last year that were like that. Frost everywhere, all over the stems and leaves, but it was a real hassle to trim. Never stacked big buds or colas, just little clusters along the main stems. Folks said it was reveg, but this is how they looked from the first...

    Time to show your grow.

My 2021 gals. Moved my indoor set-up outdoors. I guess it's a "Hybrid Grow" now. We had some pretty steady rain and it kept everything dry inside. During the day, I lift up the front cover and put the fan on em. The sides and back also have plastic covering so very little light shows at...

SOIL Suggestions for "garden soil", cuz I didn't do so well last season.

I currently use containers but if growing in the ground, I'd dig holes at least 2-3 ft in diameter and 2-3 ft. deep. If prepping the holes soon/winter, first mix 1-2 bags of Happy Frog, 1-2 bags of Ocean Forest mix, 1/2 bag of Stutzman Farms Sup'R Green composted chicken manure (3-2-2). to some...

    Drying without a drying rack?

My banker boxes. Here you go. Easy to stack, transport etc. Cut the colas at about 7-9 inches and hang on the lines. When no longer wet and not too dry, trim and jar up. Burping till cured. $2. per box, cheap! Good luck, and enjoy!

HELP! Postpartum Depression Week #3 AH (after harvest)

I’m suffering from a rare affliction, PD, found primarily in the outdoor growing community. I MISS MY BABIES! I’m only into my second week AH, and I just can’t take it anymore! Drying and trimming are done, curing almost done. My heart is telling me to germinate, and just defiantly grow...

Anyone in for growing trees? Summer Grow 2020

The gals fought the good fight, but Sir Snips A Lot, took em down at the end. R.I.P. my fair lasses. Note that not all of these were taken down at the same time, I snip no vine until it's time! I still have a few up on the hill that are just about ready, maybe a day or two.

Anyone in for growing trees? Summer Grow 2020

This is the first year I've done bud washing. I've had the usual caterpillar issues with droppings and debris that collect on plants due to being grown outdoors. I'm not sure how much p[otency is lost through washing but I'm convinced it was the right thing to do this year. Here are some pics...

    HELP! Are these aphids or?

Thought I was done with pest but I just found these on the stalks and undersides of one plant. I did find one caterpillar but didn't see any damage yet. (1) Any ideas on how to deal with these critters, and (2) is it too late to be spraying her with anything? I don't mind doing a wash at...

    Seed Storage Question

I agree with all the above responders as far as storing seeds. I keep mine in small labeled plastic bead containers kept in a box in the dark. The fridge is for food and beer! Or your beverage of choice. I don't buy seeds, so forgive my naming. What's really in a name anyway? IMHO, It's...
