Beginner, should I be concerned about this?

My soil killing my seeds?
I successfully germinated a seed and planted it in some soil i had laying around for 6 months and a week later there was no additional growth. Space Bucket Grow - Plant looks off and has slow growth
This is my first grow so I am stumbling through it. I have made a few mistakes already but have been able to bounce back from a couple.
