    Brown thumb grow

This picture was taken at 2:30 pm before I watered this plant. It is a 10” diameter pot and I put 500ml of water in it. The ph of the soil measured 7.0, 7.1. This picture was taken just after 6pm. The bottom leaves have perked up quite a bit but not the top leaves. Is this what to expect or...

    Brown thumb grow

Grow 2 plant 2 (plant 1 is the upper left hand corner, numbered going clockwise) has been topped. It’s the tallest plant, and is in a 10” clay pot. The other 2 clay pots, plant 4 and 5, are 8”.

    Brown thumb grow

I can’t get the picture in the right place, but this is the answer to your question ‘how are you measuring the ph?’ Or something to that effect. Rwise

    Brown thumb grow

the plant at the left front is the topic of my question. Its leaves are lime green to yellowish. It’s ph is 6.1. The other plants have ph of 7.2, 7.3, 7.0, 7.0 (from upper left going clockwise. The 6.1 plant then is the last reading going clockwise.) I couldn’t find where a low ph...

    Yellowing leaves

I don’t know what you expect, but the attached picture is representative of my grow, and I hope it shows that I have applied the advice that I’ve been given.

    Yellowing leaves

i wasn’t asking the same questions but I think now that the answer was the same. However I didn’t know that overwatering can produce nutrient deficiency and even symptoms of light burn. And I don’t see what is offensive about “it’s the same picture but a different question and...

    Curled leaves

Do leaves lose their curl? this one was transplanted 9-16 (6 days ago) and the leaves are still curled. The new growth is not. Is this normal? Will the older leaves lose their curl if the growing conditions are right?

    Yellowing leaves

I have 3 plants in peat cups like the photo and they are under a T5 light. The light is sitting on 2x4’s so the spacing is 5-6”. I’ve noticed that the bottom leaves are turning a light green, or yellowish green. The leaves are at about the cup diameter now. My question is; is the...

    Planting seedlings

Do you only plant a seedling up to the bottom leaves when the seedling is damaged from overwatering or excess light? What would be the disadvantage of planting a healthy seedling up to its bottom leaves? (I suspect that the plant will be “stunted” until it sprouts roots along its stem?)

    Pot size

your recommendation for more light and a good breeze. 1-what do each of these recommendations correct, exactly? 2- just guessing; I’d say that since the plant is leggy, reaching for light, you need more light, and the breeze is for the same problem? It promotes a stronger (and shorter) stem...

    Repotting

I assume then that you do your first transplant putting the seedling into a 1 gallon fabric pot. I have a second group of seedlings that have not been damaged by overwatering and light burn. I read that a good rule of thumb is to transplant the seedling when its follage reaches the diameter of...

    Repotting

This is my first time at indoor plants. what schedule should a grower be on when it comes to flower pot size? That is; from seedlings to mature plants, what size pots do you use, and when do you increase the pot size? Do you use a clay pot, plastic, or other? thanks

    Pot size

What size pot do I need for this plant? this is the same (problem) plant that I submitted under the title “sick plant”, where I was advised that it could be saved, and one of the steps was to bury the stem underground and let it sprout roots. This may determine the (large) pot size just...

    Sick plant

I’m not sure how to reply to who or maybe it’s that there are too many to reply to. But in general thanks for your help. I have another plant to show and the main difference is watering. The second difference is light spacing. The first plant was watered too much and the light was too close...

    Sick plant

I have several of these that look pretty much alike. They were over watered early on, then possibly too much or too little light. I know these are no good but I need to know what to do next time. these were grown inside, in the peat containers. I started the seeds to seedlings on a heat mat...
