Branch just couldn't hold this FreakShow cola anymore. It's dense and sticky
with mainly milky trichomes so I'm okay with taking it after the branch
snapped half way down the cola. Still got some larger ones but will need to
harvest soon with rain in the future forecast.
Just finished watching Nova's documentary special "The Cannabis Question". Seems like a very unbiased, balanced look at the up and down sides of cannabis use from the recreational as well as medical perspective It's available online if you don't have access to PBS stations. Well worth an hour of...
So along with livestock, fried food, bake competitions, and rides, the newest facet of California's State Fair will be a best cannabis ribbon. My grandpa is rolling over in his grave I believe. https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article254474278.html
Forever it seems like my weed growing hobby has always been a cost free endeavor. Bag seed was pretty much all I planted with the odd clone donated by a friend in the clandestine grow world. I've always made my own soils and fertilizers, so, other than time, I had little invested. Then I joined...
Lately here in So Cal we've been having some cooler overnight temperatures. That combined with me starting nutrient feedings the past 2 weeks left me with a number of broken branches when I checked the garden today. I am somewhat amazed at how fast the buds on my OG Kush plants and Freaks got...
The FreakShow girls are putting on some impressive cola shows. Looking
at mostly cloudy trichomes at this point but I think they have some fattening
to do yet. I'm pretty much flying by the seat of my pants at this point as these
are my first freaks. I didn't do any training this time around...
The FreakShow girls are developing nicely. An incredible profile that smells
like a mixture of lighter fluid and grapefruit with just a little hint of nutmeg.
Sending out a thank you to those of you that helped me get a handle on
the nuances of the world of FreakShow. I can't tell y'all how...
I've been pulling my hair out the past few weeks dealing with caterpillars devastating one of my plants that came into bud early.
Now that the rest of the crop is beginning to flower I have been finding more of them. I had no idea there was anything I could
do other than try and pick them off...
I was doing a little research on organic gardening tips and came
across an article about how old school growers used water they
boiled their potatoes in as a supplement during bud for extra
potassium and magnesium. I honestly didn't know they were so
high in nutrients. Just thought I would share -
I believe I may have taken this miniaturization thing a bit too far. I'm having to use jeweler's goggles and itty-bitty scissors to groom. The 1st pic is a clone that is not even 3 inches tall after 3 months of living under 18 hours of light.. I was hoping to try my hand at Bonsai but it grows...
One of my Freaks has developed a dark purple stem and branches. None of the others has shown this trait. Interesting growing this strain. I didn't do any training at all and I kind of regret it now. They are just now beginning to show bud.
I've been in purgatory the past few weeks being unable to log into my account but view posts as a guest. Fortunately after a few emails back and forth, GWE was able to resolve the problem. In the meantime the budworms showed up very early and caught me by surprise. I have an OG Kush that began...
This is no longer a stem and has moved into the realm of a trunk. No training or trimming, other than removing some clone material. Weirdest damned plant I've ever dealt with. It just screams "Bonsai Me". The branches and even the trunk bend like pipe cleaners. I now have 6 viable clones from it...
I have absolutely no idea how to tell the sex of my freaks. Can someone explain to me the tells of knowing what I got? I have 6 plants. Three are feminized and three are not. So far they all look exactly alike. I'm not doing any kind of training or cropping this time around so I can get a feel...
Just wanted to share. After 9 weeks under a humidity dome I have a couple dwarf clones finally taking root and I believe I now understand the key to getting them to go. I've been wracking my brain and the internet trying to figure out how to get these hollow stem plants to send out roots. This...
I've been growing out a handful of the strain FreakShow and I have come to that point where I need to seriously start thinking about sexing them. I have done a lot of research trying to come up with the indicators of sex in this strain and all I've found is that they are "extremely difficult to...
Here's a pic of the entire plant on my potting table for perspective. Only the tops of new growth seems to have spiral leaves. I have another Parfait that was planted the same day, in the same soil with no strange issues. Guess I'll just keep an eye on this and see what happens. I thought my...
Just when you think you've seen most everything, something like this shows up. This is one of my Raspberry Parfait sativa dominant plants that has begun to put out spiral shaped leaves. It's a photoperiod plant that was germinated on March 5th. Grown outdoors in 5 gallons of living soil and as...
Took the Kush Klone Kids outside for a play date romp in the California sun today. They seem to be enjoying it. I'll probably bring them back inside to the window after 5 hours or so. I told myself I'd keep the number of plants down this season but things are rapidly getting out of control...
