Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

I have been looking for this image for a few days and finally found something close to what I want to show. It's a head-scratcher - hopefully just the image not my description. If I may beg your indulgence for a minute or two here's why I chose this image: Imagine, if you will; that all...

Week 6 - First Pics: Close enough for Rock n’ Roll 20 February 2022 The girls are just about ready to start flowering. All plant structure is in place and they are chugging right along. Standing proud at 17.78cm (7 inches) both s1&S2 and Hazel are happy and healthy

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

We’re home mission accomplished. Now the spouse is as legal as the cannabis! Uncle Sam is happy - and so are we. We had a nice visit with TOKABIGONE who was kind enough to offer us a place to stay. I found the 10 hour round trip drive a bit much for a 10 minute appointment. But… at least...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

As we wait on a photo of Missy in the van - here is Hazel in the tub ( as of this morning). Looks like branch 4 fizzled out. At this point she has 15 or 18 flowering growth tips (5 or 6 per branch depending on if you count the center growth tip on each branch or not).

The donated Critical Mass from TOKABIGONE is now as Toka puts it “a dangling root water baby” 😉

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

I told TOKABIGONE that I would hold off on posting until he had a chance to post an update. However… Hazel is really going to town and I wanted to show her off a bit. At only 63.5mm tall (2.5”) she has two leaves as big as my hand!

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

Week 3 update: 1 February 2022 Training is well underway and the girls are looking pretty good. I thought I would toss in a few photo's on week 3 of the grow and give you a peek at roots while it's still feasible to do so. Without further adieu here are Suzie, Suzie & Hazel as of this morning.

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

S S & H 31 January 2022 The three girls are doing fine and as predicted have kicked into over-drive. Hazels topping turned out to be a FIM so she is proudly showing off her four main branches. Here’s the latest photo, of Suzie, Suzie (Purple Platinum Kush) and fat old Hazel (Purple Bubba)...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

Suzie Suzie & Hazel this morning. 29 January 2022 If you’re wondering WTF is going on with Suzie & Suzie let me ‘splain my reasoning for Suzie (not Suzie) being stripped bare; the two thing that will always slow growth are A) Topping & B) Defoliation. Topping had already been done so the...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

I’m going to be out of town for a few days so I thought I would slip in a photo of the girls this morning. They’ve all been topped and are ready to have the rule of the roost for the next day or two.

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

A small update on Suzie, Suzie and Hazel. My girls are short. Suzie 1 and Hazel are running neck and neck at maybe 3cm (1.2”) above the hydroton. Both tubs are running right at 21c (70f) and water level are at 8.9cm (3.6”) below the bottom of the net pot - just about where they should be...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

Good Morning GWE! I started the countdown earlier as to when to expect a harvest with a starting date of January 5th - as the start date for Suzie #2 is about 5 days after that. For counting purposes I’m counting today as day 10 for me. Which from this end will make the official starting...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

Sorry for the delay folks - my computer had a bit of a meltdown. All that can be done is or has been done so all is well. The girls are looking good. The two Suzies are doing exceptionally well. I regret to inform you that Hazel #1 went kicking and screaming with her tiny yellow leaves pointing...

Purple Bubba & the Old Riders of the Purple Sage

After a slow start the race limps forward: the two suzies (ppk) and the two hazels (pb) from top to bottom: These 3 things saved these two seedlings. Rooting hormone 3mg, hydroguard 10ml and ph balanced water was lightly sprayed on ailing seedlings and the soil directly surrounding them.
