2021-01-03: Week 19 - Week 13 of flowering completed
Skipped a week's update. Still Growing, the GSC is getting really close - I think it might be time to go into a flush for a week. I suspect the durban may need another 2 weeks or so, so maybe one more feeding for that plant.
Having them...
2020-12-20: Week 17 - Week 11 of flowering completed
Chugging along. Had one moment where I may have watered the GSC a little too late - the poor plant got a little droopy. But it perked back up quickly and didn't loose any leaves so doesn't seem like I did much harm.
The GSC is at about...
2020-12-13: Week 16 - Week 10 of flowering completed
Grow is chugging along. There is starting to be a gap in maturity between the GSC and the Durban Poison. The GSC is starting to show more and more red pistils and looks to be moving towards maturity. The Durban is still showing a lot of...
2020-12-06: Week 15 - Week 9 of flowering completed
So, we are still growing! I had hoped that next week would be harvest week, but that seems unlikely. Still a great deal of white pistils on the buds. But MAN do I have a really good set of chonky colas!
Humidity has been pretty well...
2020-11-29: Week 14 - Week 8 of flowering completed
So, still not a lot of red pistils yet. Buds are putting on some weight as we go, too.
Not a lot to report this week, just keeping up with watering and feeding as usual. Not changing the formula there, have reached about as concentrated...
2020-11-22: Week 13 - Week 7 of flowering completed
So, last week I found a hacky way to get my lights just a little higher up. The plants seem to be doing better now that there's a more appropriate 8-10" from the LEDs, but there was a little bit of light burn damage that happened before I...
2020-11-15: Week 12 - Week 6 of flowering completed
Getting closer! No issues with watering this week - have stayed on top of it.
Am beginning to see hints of light issues with the top leaves nearest the lights - height is maxed out in there, and I have no room to bring the lights up...
2020-11-08: Week 11 - Week 5 of flowering completed
So, missed a week there. Things were a little nutty around here for the last week or so. Unfortunately, I missed a watering too, and the two plants both got super thirsty. They've bounced back now, but they've self-lolipopped from the lack...
2020-10-25: Week 9 - Week 3 of flowering completed
Looking back at last weeks photos, these ladies are still stretching upwards over the last week. Proto buds are firmly established, and look promising!
Just have to find a way to ensure I don't end up with a lot of light burn on the top colas...
2020-10-18: Week 8 - Week 2 of flowering completed
So, both plants seem fairly happy and appear to have adjusted to the light for the most part. Had a few areas try to go taco-leaved, but I think I've got it sorted. I'm now at very close to the maximum workable height with all my equipment up...
2020-10-11: Week 7 - Week 1 of flowering completed
So, uh, these ladies are growing fiercely.
The Durban Poison was looking a little hungry (light lime yellow growth, lost one small lower leaf), so I made sure to go with nutrient-laced water for the next feed. It seems to have been...
2020-10-04: Week 6 - Flip to 12-12 today!
So, uh, these ladies put on some height this week. Here's the family photo before I trimmed both of them down.
They're both looking pretty fluffy. This week, they got a proper feeding - if a light one - of 1 gallon each. Still around 350ppm overall...
2020-09-27: Week 5
Well, the grow is going really well so far. The plants are recovering from training, and I took SoOrbudgal 's advice without having read her message! They got pH'd water for two waterings this week, instead of anything more nutritious. Seems to be working out well!
The...
2020-09-20: Week 4
Well, that damage to the one node of the GSC didn't recover, but I think I've managed to switch it over to a manifold-style training that should be able to make about 6 nice growth points.
The Durban did well really well after training and put on good growth, but I was...
2020-09-13: Week 3
Both plants have been happier since transplant.
The Durban is a pretty uniform dark green. The lowest leaves on the GSC are showing a lighter color, but nothing extreme yet.
I did some training today, and the top of the GSC did not take to the bending well - there is...
2020-09-07 Week 2
Both seedlings have been trained/topped at two nodes, and transplanted over to their larger containers at the end of this week. The GSC is still a way ahead of the Durban, by size at least. Both have the same nodes/topping done in the photo, the GSC just has more height...
2020-08-30: Week 1
So, the little seedlings are off to the races. I have been humidifying the tent all week, but it's been of moderate success. Which is to say, the humidity does climb for a bit before dropping back down to the ambient 40% the room seems hell bent on being. Still, they...
2020-08-23: Above ground!
So the GSC seed was above ground on Monday and the Durban was up on Tuesday.
I'm looking at these two and the new leaves are stacked right on top of the cotyledons - not a lot of node spacing there. I haven't seen that before, I wonder what's up?
GSC is the...
2020-08-16: Two happy little cracked seeds with 1/4" taproots were planted today. :) Nothing above ground yet, but will keep updating.
This grow will be done with my Mega Crop nutrients (not enough Advanced Nutrients left, so I will be feeding the last of the AN to my salad and kitchen herb...
Follow up:
Well, I left of the updates for a bit.
Harvest happened the next week after my last updated. I managed to get some help with trimming and only had two plants, so it was the smoothest, least back-pain-inducing harvest I've had yet. High five to that!
The yield wasn't great -...
