What are your favorite supplements and why?

I'm trying to figure out which nutrients and supplements are best for growing weed.

When it comes to growing cannabis, which plant supplements are absolutely must have to grow good weed?

What supplements are nice to have for growing weed, and why?

What supplements are a total waste of money, or worse, bad for your cannabis plants? For example, I've heard some flowering supplements can trigger plants to herm.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and stories.

I grow in a 5050 blend of coco/perlite in the autopot system using 5 gallon cloth pots. The autopot system uses reservoirs. Mine is 12 gallons. I use CX Horticulture nutrients for coco and have a number of years. That include A&B base, Growth Enhancer for veg, Bloom Enhancer and Head Masta for flower, Wilt Gard, and ReGeneroot. I also use GH Cal/Mag and Athena Cleanse. The cleanse is for the reservoir in the autopot system. I don't want to add anything that I don't need.

What I use can produce a lot of weed subject to me and how I apply what I've learned here. In other words great nutrients and set up can't defeat a poor grow environment. It's not a supplement but the grow light is critical to a successful grow. The best nutrients won't overcome a weak or improperly placed light. What nutrients are must have might depend on how you grow but if I understand it correctly MJ absolutely needs NPK and calcium magnesium and sulphur. There are some others that I can't recall. I think mistakes happen when growers don't understand the basic needs of the plant. I think the nice to haves and the total waste of money supplements arguments would go away if the basics were perfected first. Just my .02. Worth price charged

What golf said is spot on. But my 10 cents worth… I use sunshine mix #4 ,perlite, general hydroponics 2 bottles flora nova series 1 for veg 1 for bloom and add gh Calmag and really only other supplement I use is recharge from real growers. Keep it simple My last indoor grow I averaged 3.5-4 oz per plant. Grow 3-4 plants I have enough weed for a year but if you do 2-3 grows a year you have a TON of weed😎

I don't use or need supplements. Simply a way for grow companies to make your money their money. GH Trio with CalMag works just fine. Only supplement ever needed is Hydroguard for DWC. (Note: newer growers should NOT do DWC.)

I imagine some experienced growers will use some type of supplement. I'll let them explain what, why and the grow circumstances.

That last part made me laugh out loud ...

My Personal experience Indoors recently. I used the Remo series for a couple grows around 2 years ago, followed by 4 grows with the powdered Flora Flex system (with CalMag in coco), and most lately for 2 previous and a current grow the GH Trio with Cal-mag. Cal Mag was needed for each of the three systems, for at least part of the grow, even if buffered - so I now just add it instead of bothering with the bufferring. I have found no noticeable difference in end products for these, and have consistantly used 50 to 60% of instructed concentrations for each as per Nebula recommendations - and I don't get issues that some friends get. In my mind, Remo was way more effort to mix with multiple additives, and for each grow a few plants exhibited what seemed like nitrogen surplus but otherwise it worked great. The GH Trio didn't require PH adjustment, at least in our area, but the other two did. I find measuring the powder Flora Flex to be cleaner and easier - and it is easier to dissolve than I would have thought. Price wise, the flora flex is much cheaper here than each of the others. Remo is per grow the highest price by quite a bit, with GH Trio seeming a good deal if ya want liquid (for for rough note for me, the bloom is the first to run out, and 1 bottle lasted over 1 grows with around a dozen 2-3 oz plants. I tried the GH Trio based on Nebula's suggestions and like it, especially the ph stabilizing. However, unless something happens, in the future I will be using the Flora Flex powders. I have never used any supplements except the Cal Mag when needed, just not really believing in them.

Bootsy, thanks for the good post. Looking at all the posts, we obviously all define supplements differently. My personal opinion is that when growing in c/p, liquid nutrients are necessary fertilizer.
