I started a couple autoflowers I intend to put in a cold frame mid-April. They were almost two inches and a little curled two days after germination. I added an inch of soil to straighten and support them. They‘ve each got true leaves. Anyone ever tried this? Is it likely to help / hurt?

With a mild winter, I am preparing an outdoor bed for some autoflowers that should go 2 feet tall. How many would my 3 x 6 foot bed support? My plan is to start them in the tent and bed them mid-May (Ohio) or sooner if weather cooperates.
