I would definitely recommend bud washing for any outdoor grow. Here's a before and after of the wash buckets from a plant I harvested last week.

What's the environment like in your tent, especially rh? You should be able to get the humidity down indoors to prevent bud rot. In late flower you don't want rh to get above 50%, preferably lower.

If bud is a little too sticky to smoke well it helps to grind some up and let it sit on the tray for a day or two.
