That sounds so much like my story. I didn't get along with what I, called the suit people always in your business. They were mostly PHDs that just signed off on your work. And they didn't know how to use their hands. They couldn't extract anything from anything or target a compound using GCMS

I will say that I always used a 7ph buffer to check the accuracy of the ph strips when I used them. I just believe that we should use some sort of quality control when using any kind of testing. I'm almost sure most chemists will agree on the validity you have when using controls

I have an Apera ph pen. What I do is test a different buffer solution and compare the reading to the acceptable benchmarks published from Apera. That's my way to get control data that proves my ph pen was calibrated accurately
