I have a hydroponic system with two plants in each storage bin. One of the plants is close to being done flowering and the other one has a couple of weeks. The roots are completely entangled with each other. Does anyone have any advice on flushing the plant that is done flowering while keeping my other plant alive? I hear it only takes 3 days to flush a plant in hydroponics but I’m worried that the other plant will die. What should I do??!!! Thank you for your time.

Howdy andrewdishner, I grow in a DWC set up as well. I flush, using GH FloraKleen, and have had great results with it. I use it as per label directions (2 Tbls per gallon), let it work for three days, drain and replace with only pH'ed water for four more days, then harvest. Since You have two plants in the same reservoir and only one is ready to harvest, may I suggest that You go ahead and flush, then only harvest the buds from the one that is ripe, leaving the majority of the plant. This way the plant might stay viable long enough for the other plant to ripen. If You chop the first one down, the root mass might start rotting and cause harm to the remaining plant. After the second plant is harvested, You could then harvest the trim from the first plant. Flushing should not harm the remaining plant as long as You resume the feeding schedule for the remaining plant as soon as possible.
Good luck with your grow.Smoke weed,.....grow peace!

Hey andrew, totally agree with DW2's great advice: you don't want rotting roots in your reservoir!! A flush won't hurt the plant that's not ready yet; some growers even recommend regular flushes to give the plants a breather from nutes, and they explode with growth after the flush.Anyone can grow schwag. Howdy alltatup, I did notice (but have not tried it) that the directions on the bottle of FloraKleen mentioned flushing other than the final pre-harvest flush. I past grows, I have had signs of nitrogen toxicity in the latter months of the bloom phase (dark green, curling 'claw' tips, and cupping leaves) and I may try a couple of mid-bloom flushes, just to see if it helps out. Thanks

Hey DW2, I had nitrogen toxicity about 4 weeks back, so I flushed them for 48 hours and they were so happy!! They really did explode after the flush. I should do it every month, but it's a big production to change my reservoir. Ok, not THAT big of a production, but I wish it were a little easier...
