dontknow, I'm looking for one to fit in the jars for curing. While your old one (I love old stuff) sounds cool, not what I need right now.

Insom, you know how I feel about light during curing. If you have to buy jars. Try and find some black mason jars. The once I use now are dark purple. Sure keeps the light out. Couldn't find any black once I could afford. Just saying.

I got the purple ones too. And I got some dark green jars. A buddy had sum air tight snap lid jars. None of us want light degradation.

I like the Caliber IV hygrometers because they fit right in the jar. You can keep it in there pointed out and see the humidity without even having to open the jar. They are a bit expensive at $25. We only have two of them and originally I started with just one. I move them from jar to jar whenever I'm burping during the curing process until I see that every jar is staying in the right range

I use the inkbird hygrometers. Similar size to the calibers and half the price. I tested them vs two other competitors hygrometers and it read in between the other two. Good nuff for me.

Kingfish, those black airtight canisters are expensive!!! I was looking at them on eBay a while back. I got a dozen regular jars for less than the price of one of those. They are very cool though. For long term storage, we will probably put the jars in a cardboard box and cover with black poly, although (don't kill me) we may still try one or two seal-a-meal packs. I know, I know............I promise we will be very careful and not crush buds. Maybe practice using the machine with cotton balls or something first.

The mason jar curing will happen right in the tent so it will only get light when we check on it.

Ordered my hygrometer, supposed to arrive Friday. I went with the one Nebula recommended in her tutorial, Caliber IV Digital by Western Humidor. Mid-range as far as cost goes. I'll probably end up with only 4 quart jars, not over packed. Depending on how much they shrink, may end up fitting in only 3 jars. Have to wait and see.

One more piece of equipment to check off my list.
