Hey guys, I have a slight problem with one of my ladies... This is my first grow ever and let's just say I made every rookie mistake possible, and when I finally got it all figured out, this girl (which I believe is Auto Afghan, not sure cause I didnt't label them correctly), started burning like hell. I narrowed it down to Potasium deficiency, because I have my Viparspectra's V450 at 24 inches above the plants, and my temps are stable withing 22-24 Celcius. So I decided to flush the plant completly whlie waiting for my verification. Could and of you please confirm my theory that this is indeed Potasium problem, and was flushing the plant a good idea? Thanks!

Thank you so much for your reply! I thought it might be nutrient burn but it looks kinda like potasium deficency. So my question is: how do I tell them apart? I've studied the entire GWE website, and from the info provided in the articles, especially in Nutrient Burn article, it seemed like I really have Potasium def. So how can I know for sure which is which?
Also, I flushed the plant yesterday morning, and it seems burning didn't stop, it got worse to be honest. Next time I guess I'll cut the nutes in half and see what happens. Im really worried that this situation will badly effect my yields or worse even kill the plant.

Nereids Can you post some more pictures of the plant in question, and in natural light?
And sorry: I forgot it was your first grow. I took for granted that you knew more than you do right now; my bad. I've only been growing for almost three years and at first, I didn't understand that deficiency symptoms can so easily be the results of nutrient lockout because the nute companies like to tell us to use more nutes than we need to in order to sell more of their product.
So one strain may tolerate lots of nutes, where another strain is a delicate eater who doesn't need as much. I grow four different strains in each of my two hydro boxes, and I always make sure that none of them has special nute needs,--or that they all have more or less the same needs. Your plant may have stopped growing because of nutrient lockout, and she may recover and bounce right back.
Once the plant is in flower, we want things to go as smoothly as possible so that there is no negative impact on bud development. One grow I had a horrible case of root rot, and it stunted the growth of the buds, but the buds were still quite good. So your baby may be a runt, but she can still give you great buds.
Here's the breakdown on how to flush a sickly plant: https://www.growweedeasy.com/flushing-sick-cannabis
I also recommend that you talk to her, tell her you're going to stand by her and nurse her back to health, and that you love her unconditionally. It's true that I'm an old hippie and all that cosmic shit, but I really believe that Cannabis responds to our emotions and disposition toward her. Which is why I worship my plants; I'm their servant, and they reward me with the best medicine!!! I just don't get the folks who get mad at their plants; they must have have had bad parents... ;-} We are here to help!!

alltatup Sorry it took me so long to reply.
Latest pictures from this morning: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aps8-R3C8-tLmjWU8qKO-U4FwlZN (bud pic is from the plant on the left)
Thanks to your reply I finally understood the basic of nutrients, and because of that my ladies got over their problems, and are looking as healthy as ever. Each one of them has a specific nutrient plan based on how they behaved previously. The one on the left had phosphorus problems, so I flushed it and gave it half the nutrients with additional Phosphorus dose. Seems to be loving life from that point onward. Which brings me to the plant on the right (the one I needed help with); I followed your advice, and now she's loving life and growing stronger day by day, thank you for that! Just like you said, each strain is different, and this one seems to be really delicate.
The plant in the back was supposed to be an auto just like the other two, but it seems my seed bank fucked up and I got a regular photo, which is good, since I can have some fun with her.
But, lessons learned. In the back there's Gorrilla Glue Auto and Auto AK, and I'll do my best to grow them beautiful and strong.
Just like you said it brother! I approach my plants with much love, talk to them all the time and sometimes when I'm in a mood I sing while taking care of them! I believe it makes them happy, and it makes me happy that I can contribute more to their life than just watering and training them
Thank you for your advice and time, grow strong my friend! I will post final results after harvesting with full grow history, just to prove that growing is really easy, and even when you make a shit ton of mistakes, your plant will reward you with ... magicLast edited by Nereids; 04-24-2019, 03:54 PM.

First grow and I think this is calcium deficiency?
Or time for a low dose of FF nutes?
Just noticed on three different plants but only 4 or 5 leaves total.
These are clones they are about 8 weeks old and in 4 inch pots.
They are in soil Foxfarms Ocean Forest and have only been given pH balance water.
I have two others the same age in 1 gallon pots (they show no signs)
Thoughts?

4 Inch pots is small for a 8 week old clone, one gallon may be to small but I do not grow in soil so not sure. When I did grow in soil the smallest I would use would be 4 gal, but that was in the day and I'm not sure how fox farm works.

Hi Cannacaps4U2 It may be time to start feeding them: if they are hungry, leaves can show weird symptoms. I've never done clones, so I hope these articles help:
[Answer inside!] I was wondering how much to feed to my plants which have been in the vegestative stage for about a week now...

Thanks all
I am going to transplant into 1 gallon pots and start on low dose vegging nutes

hello.
i'm growing near windows. less than 12 hours of sun per day, but it has been going fine.
it seems to have just revealed its femininity.
the problem started some weeks ago. yellowing flowers which will eventually fall. more completely so in the lower branches, but the upper leaves, including the new ones, are getting kinda burned on the thips, with bad shapes.
i'll try to capture it in the pictures.
what is it?7 Photos

2 things you could have to hot a soil and or you have to hard a soil you need to put something like perlite in it so it can breath , that pot looks like a 1 gallon to me if that is so it could be root bound ,that would account for the stunted growth and maybe the dead leafs . If I just saw the brown leaf and didn't know anything else I would sy it was a N deficiency , what kind of soil are you using , you have 2 issues burnt tips and dead or dieing leafs .Alltatup is correct you should post this on main forum and see what others say

This isn't urgent, just wanted to make sure everything is fine. Quick summary of what was done and photo below. Maybe it's ok, but I am not really seeing progress in 2 days.
Seeds planted 10pm Wed night. Started popping up friday morning. Away all day and 11pm Sat they have completely sprouted.
(11pm Sat) Stop using the 2 20w t12s over germination station, remove the top and put 40w (actual power draw) sansi led 24" above. By Sunday night it doesn't seem to be growing more than the 2nd set of leaves which have been there.
(10pm Sun.) Examine each fabric pouch, notice a root coming thru and put this into containers with foxfarm happy frog (light at 18"). Today they still look almost the same as saturday night, perhaps a little more pronounced and upright on the 2 shorter seedlings, but no new leaves.
Optic 1 3500k arrived today. They say use it at 30" for seedlings and wow this thing is ridiculous. It's like a gigantic spotlight, even from 48" it's far more powerful than what they are under now at 18". I have been reading thru the articles on here and kind of think everything is fine, I just thought it would grow more within 2 days.
Ignore the very small seedling, it came from a double. The tall seedling had a very small one right next to it and carefully split them.Last edited by MmmHmmml3; 04-22-2019, 07:40 PM.

Hi MmmHmm, I read or imagined that a cannabis seedling is like a big choo choo train. She starts off slow, but when she gets a lil bigger, she picks up steam and you'll see daily growth. Just be patient, don't over-water but keep those roots emerging, and she'll take off. All you have to do is worship her.Anyone can grow schwag. Thanks, just curious how hot that 400w cob led gets? My 54w optic 1 cob is at 120f .5" from center of dome lid. It does seem to drop off quickly at 90f roughly 4 inches away and ambient room temp @ 10-12"
This closest was originally a temp spot, but seeing how well the light covers it I'm leaning towards doing 2 or 3 in here, it's 36-40 × 60-66 x 96.Last edited by MmmHmmml3; 04-23-2019, 10:22 AM.

NEED URGENT HELP - LEAVES ARE GETTING YELLOW AND DARK SPLOTCHES APPEAR
Hi guys,
It's my first grow, so take it easy please
It's been almost 35 days into flowering since 12/12 switch
Problems started to appear about 8-10 ago
I will try to give as much information as possible:
0,6x0,6 (m) grow tent
250w HPS with cooltube, active cooling
Soil in smart bag-pot
Watering once in 2-3 days
PH of water always tested - within average limits of 6-7
Keeping it at 50% humidity now, temperature 24-27c during the light phase, 21-23 during the night phase
Was not adding much of nutrients during the vegetative stage, it was feeling perfectly fine just very occasional (GHE Flora Bloom and Micro)
Almost avoided additional Phosphorus nutrition (as it was looking good), added just 1/4 of recommended dose one time 2 weeks after switch (GHE Flora Bloom)
2 days ago started to add more of GHE Flora Bloom as advised per manufacturer (I know it is General Hydroponics so might not the right choice for the soil, but had no other option)
To me it looks like Phosphorus deficiency - stems became to turn purple/red, leaves acting abnormal, even new once near the buds. Tips appear burnt, leaves are curling and yellowing both top and bottom, also these ugly spots appear
PLEASE HELP!!!
here are the pics (sorry just can't figure out how to implement imgur links here):
Is it too bad? Will it make it through the flowering?

Any ideas what might be causing this? These two plants are growing significantly slower than my others - the leaves seem to be discolored slightly yellow in various places. Checked under the leaves but saw no obvious signs of pests. I am using RO water in fox farm soil. My thinking was it could be magnesium deficiency (due to the RO water) or possibly pests. I went ahead and gave them a very light feeding of CalMag in non RO water - I will also check runoff pH after the next watering for problems. If anybody has any other suggestions I am all ears

nope, nothing like that. only been giving them RO water with no nutes for the first few weeks (except the light feeding of calmag I just gave them), and definitely not on the leaves. I uploaded a more recent photo that should help you see a little better in regular light.
the plants started growing faster again after the calmag, and the new growth definitely looks better to me, but I am not sure whether or not I should also give them some neem oil to be on the safe side in case this actually is pests. last thing I want is this to spread to my other healthy plants if I put them back in the tent.

Thanks for posting the green pic. I don't know what that could be, but she is definitely old enough to start getting fed. Start with very low doses of vegetation nutes for seedlings and increase gradually unless you see the leaf tips getting burned.

Hello everybody and happy growing!
I have been reading the website and the tutorials for quite some time now and now I have some problems with my grow and would like a little help
- NFT Hydro grow with one plant in rockwool
- now in fourth week of flowering
- ppm at the beginning of the week (Monday) 1200, dropping day after day, today was 800
- I am using the Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Grow, Micro, Bloom Hydroponic Intermediate Growing Recipe
- water temperature from 18-21 degrees (64-70)
- using a ViparSpectra 600W LED light
- air stone in the nutrients solution
- reservoir emptied and cleaned every Monday and refilled with new solution
Two weeks ago (2nd of week of flowering) I noticed some brown spots on my lady. The spots appeared on the top fan leaves, gradually moving to the new growth but the major issue is on the biggest fan leaves that are on top of plant. I have been struggling from the first day with keeping my ph as much as possible around 5.5 but I have to correct it every single day if not twice a day. Usually by the end of the day it rises to 7 or even 7.4.
I searched a little on the website and found out that my problem could be some sort of calcium deficiency. I will add some phed water every day to see if the situation changes and the new growth grows without any problems. I am also thinking of adding some cal mag.
Could you tell me from your experience if this is calcium deficiency? Should I remove the most damaged leaves?
I have also ordered a new ph down solution from advanced hydroponics which is specifically made for plants in bloom. I know that when ppm goes down (because plants use the nutrients) the ph grows.
Should I have the same ppm value thru whole week or is it normal that goes down?
Here are the pics and thanks for your help.

Hey guys! I have a problem, a big one actually;
So here are my 2 plants, both sprouted the same day, living in the same conditions since day 1. First picture shows them two weeks ago, when they where more or less the same size. 2nd one show the plant in question TODAY, and the 3rd shows them both next to each other.
So the question is; Why is she not growing? I've seen close to no progress in those 2 weeks, and the other healthy one just keeps getting bigger. Why is that? I accept that I might have to toss her, but I wanted to know your opinion before that happes.
My setup is; soil, viperspectra v450, bottled nutes, each plant is in the same pot size, each has it's own nutrient plan."
It's important to note that both plants were growing for a MONTH under a puny Aliexpress light, and didn't grow much from seed up until the point I've bought Viparspectras. So what do you think? In my opinion, as both are autoflowers, the sick plant doesn't have any lifetime remaining, and she just won't grow buds at this point. I hope any of you seen something like this before, cheers, much love from a begginer! <3
PS. Also the amount of brown hairs is disturbing?Last edited by Nereids; 05-05-2019, 05:48 AM.

Nereids Hi there, I'm sorry but I can't see anything in those dark purple pictures. Are they both the same strains? Even if they are, you can have one plant get huge and one stay runty. It has happened to me.
Why would dark pistils be disturbing???
-
@alltatup
No they're not the same strain. Yes I understand that genetics are a factor, but I am concerned because I haven't seen any change for two weeks. The picture is for you to compare the size of main colas of both plants. And you can clearly see that in course of two weeks one got bigger and produced buds and the other did nothing (plant height differs because I decided to put the small plant on a box so it's closer to the light).
They are disturbing because nothing else had grown only some of the pistils turned brown.
What could that mean in terms of plant health, have you seen cases of plants refusing to grow bud?
